i just turned 21 years old. we're travelling to puerto vallarta tomorrow. i have a passport, BUT, my license was expired and i had to go get a new license. i live in colorado and when you get a new license, they send it to you in the mail. they give you a piece of paper that they say works just like an actual license. would have a problem proving i booked the trip eventhough i have a passport??? please help me.

All you need is a passport to fly. No other ID needed.

A US passport is about the best ID a person can have. It is accepted anywhere.

Suggestion: Before you leave, make a couple of copies of the photo page to carry in your pocket and lock the passport in your hotel room safe. If you get stopped for any reason and asked for your passport, give them the copy and if they still want to see your passport, tell them to go with you to your hotel and retrieve it from the safe in your room. I live overseas and do this reguarly.

Your passport is the best ID possible. Not having the drivers license shouldn't be a problem unless you plan on renting a car.
