I admit I have been as guilty as the next man in doing this but I have now realised that I should in fact be pitying them.
It must be terrible having to go through life with such a narrow mind and having to stop and think before you do anything for fear of upsetting your god and losing your place in heaven.
So please, can you show a little restraint and pity?

It's completely ok! Everyone needs criticism, but likewise, every one needs pity. Although I must refute a few of your statements. Everyone is equally narrow-minded. Aetheists say evolution is the only way; chrsitians say creation is the only way.-But think about it logically from a scientific standpoint. Nothing can't blow up into something because nothing is nothing something is somethingnothing is not something(law of reflexive equality and law of reflexive inequality) If you beleive it was a ball of matter, what would cause it to react and explode. An object at rest will ocntinue to stay at rest unless another force acts upon it(newton's first law) where's the force in it? Where did the ball of matter come from? don't say the force of the vacuum was greater, it was equal. Every action has an equal and opposite reaction, and the same is with force(newton's third law)Finally, we have full confidence, for the Bible states, if interpretted properly, says we can't lose our salvation. -but criticsim is ok it makes you think and come back stronger the next time.

In my 50 years as a confirmed atheist I've experienced nothing but hostile persecution from the "good Christians" in my life. I've absorbed a thousand times more vicious persecution from the Christian community than I've ever dished out. Now, for the first time in my life, I'm free to express my anti-religious sentiments without having to fear a beating from some self-righteous Christian a--hole with an axe handle! Now that I am free to safely speak my mind I will continue to do so. If this offends Christian sensibilities, so much the better. For my entire life I've been forced to endure a constant parade of ignorant superstitious sermons and incomprehensible citations of scripture. Wake up Christians! Your time has passed and I, for one, could not be happier................

I don't pity anyone. Except you.
I am an atheist also, and you are giving us a bad name. Take your pity somewhere else.
What we should be doing is respecting those Christians that do not try to offend us....and having heated debates with those who don't.
Pitying someone only tells them that you are better than them.

Athee (moonunit) - you're to be respected and enjoyed as God's introduction - no matter what "ensures" you're making concerning your non-theory. i might nicely be your pal, care approximately your life, and care approximately your soul and love Christ all on the comparable time. with the help of no longer "following peace with ALL adult males" (and ladies people, of direction) - i'm condemning myself to never seeing the Lord. So, besides the fact that if i think of we are in a position to truly co-exist - i ought to confess, a number of my reasoning is self-pastime. i desire to work out the Lord. yet rather - maximum Christians are no longer almost so judgmental as you notice right here on Y/A. God Bless (no matter what your theory, or lack thereof)

I want to know from my fellow atheists why I'm not allowed to criticize Muslims just as much as --if not more so because they really deserve it-- Christians,
without being called overrated PC names such as bigot and racist, etc, etc.

Seems a hypocritical double standard.

As long as they live in anonymity – sort of like a Christian ‘Don’t ask – don’t tell’ policy. If they will just stay in the closet where they belong, no one cares what they believe or how they live. However, we cannot allow them to destroy America; and, we do not have to put up with, or listen to, their nonsense.

i bet if youre life was in jeopardy..(i.e. youre about to drive off of a cliff), for example,..i bet you would still scream to the top of your voice..."oh my God"..would you not?..or "God help me"...its not "fear of upsetting my God and losing my place in heaven."..its called just being a good person...even someone like yourself could learn from something as simple as the golden rule..but im sure that youre just too intellectually superior for that..
