How old is kitty? This is what cats do to their mothers to get them to produce milk. It's suckling behaviour, and they do grow out of it. Well pretty much - most cats will still massage with their paws as a sign of contentment. Having your cat castrated, if you haven't already, may also help - and is something you should be doing anyway from 5 months old, of course!

my cat does the exact same thing! and when she does it she seems to go into a trance! i have asked 2 different vets why she does this, and i got 2 similar answers, the first was that she was possibly took away from her mother too early (which she was - i later found this out) and apparently if this happens its possible that they wont loose the suckleing reflex, this is how they get milk from the mother, but it also means that they are happy and relaxed in their surroundings. i was also told that this can be a nesting instinct, its the cat making its bed, which aint very ressaureing when it tries to make it on ur belly lol, they say that female cats loose this wen they get spayed, but mine has been spayed but still continues to do this! i wouldnt worry about this as it seems that some cats do this and some dont, it seems to be a case of traits that some cats have and some dont, but i am sure that it does mean that they are happy safe and content in their sourroundings and that should be the main thing, you have a very happy cat there and enjoy her as much as u can, i hope this helps :-)

you're saying the first weaning time has handed. besides the fact that if for yopur cat she did no longer have adequate weaning time. Or somewhat it replace into ended all of sudden. this is common of a cat who replace into weaned too early. as lengthy as you're giving the affection whe desires ( i'm advantageous you're) do no longer project concerning the kneading and merely relish it. If the licking bothers you ( i be attentive to a pair people discover it too tough and it rather is finding on the feel of the tongue) get her a fluffy toy to play with and he or she would be in a position to probably start to lick that. the different ( greater effective yet no longer consistently a possibility ) answer is to get a chum for her

i gave u a thumbs up squidgy
Sometimes I wake up to find my cat licking my clothes that I have on. Why does he do that?
Perhaps they taste good to him? More likely, he enjoys the texture or feel of the clothing. Cats also will indulge in mutual grooming of other cats and pets as a way to share their scent, and make everybody smell alike as a “family.” It may be that naps are the only time you hold still long enough for this attention, and your cat is paying you the huge compliment of grooming your clothes - and making you smell like him.

how old is your cat? if it is a less than six months old it is behaving like it would with its mother. it is a natural thing but older than six months it could be something called pika meaning eating something that is not natural in the diet and usually because it is lacking in a nutrient so get the cat checked by a vet for this. padding all cats do this from birth and can be very relaxing for owner and cat alike.

Cat's like the taste of salt, which occurs naturally in our skin, it's probably rubbed off onto youer clothes. Also, When a cat is happy and lying down it tends to retract and contract (I think thats the word) it's claws. It's a natural reflex I think.

When cats are born they do this to suck and get milk by messaging their mother with their paws. It is normal for adults do keep on doing this. It shows affection.

Mine and my boyfriends kitten does the same thing! I actually asked this question myself! If your cat is still young or even taken away from his mother too young it is mimiking drinking his mothers milk from you! Our kitten purrs extremly loud when she does it to me because she enjoys it but apparently they eventually grow out of it! Hope this answers your question and good luck with the little baby (cat)!

HI we have three that do the same thing and the only thing that they have in common is that they were taken away from their mother's too young. It's kind of a comfort thing. don't worry it's just them treating you like a surrogate mum.

Means he's deeply relaxed and happy, and he's regressing to kittenhood; they all do something like that sometimes, it's what they remember from being a kitten & persuading mum to give milk.
