I am not so sure this would apply under immigration but the fact that people are in the US illegally but somehow have a say so in the laws and want rights in this country???? Name another country in which I could enter, illegally, get a job, and health care and actually have the politicians cater to my needs??????? I think we need to work on the rights of our legal taxpayers...

Assuming you are speaking of immigration in the USA ... enforcing immigration law would be a huge, good first start.
Making sure those that come here and work are properly documented, paying taxes and obligated to obeying the laws of the US.
Along with that would be harshly punishing those that entice or lure illegals into this country for cheap work without ensuring that the proper paperwork and induciton process is in place.
I for one would like to see LESS immigrants coming into our country each year. Too much of a good thing is not a good thing.
End "Anchor Baby" immigration. IT's not really what the law implies in any event. It's improper for illegal people who come here against our laws to be permitted to allow their children here as a legal citizen just because they were born here. It's foolishness and can and does lead only to more fraud and corruption with malice.
I could go on but these are the main problems that would fix and seriously broken immigration scenario in our world here in the USA now.

illegal immigration to me is the most pressing issue in this country. You ask what problems people have with illegal immigration?? First, we pay people to protect the borders of this country. But when push comes to shove, they are the ones that get punished and go to jail for doing their jobs. The national guard is a joke. They could do a good job if they were allowed to work, but they are there just for show. When you actually look at illegal immigration and see the negative effects on this country. our healthcare system is overwhelmed due to the illegals, our prisons are way way overcrowded and a large portion of this is illegals, crime is out of control and its due to illegals, our school system is falling apart and is overcrowded due to the illegal population. There are several more issues which i could go on and on about. But the main problem i see is there is no enforcement of the policies in this country. To me illegal is illegal.. so if someone is caught here illegally, they should be deported and i don't care how long they have been here. They have been breaking the law for years. Lets say after 10 years someone gets caught for murdering someone in the past. do we just say oh well, he/she is now a productive member of society.. heck no, they still go after them and put prosecute the. But the big issue is there is a large portion of hispanic people here and they have a power base which is growing. Politicians are scared right now and don't want the backlash of standing up for the rights of this country..
Sorry this was so long, but im just fed up with this issue..

I'd like illegal immigration stopped as it is ruining our schools and health care in areas where they concentrate and drives down wages for our own workers.

I would like birth right citizenship abolished unless one parent is a citizen or permanent resident. (Ireland was the last EU country to do abolish this, what is taking US so long?)

I would like family based immigration limited to just spouse and minor children because too great a percentage of our immigration is determined by the foreign family of an immigrant, at increasingly remote relationship to the original immigrant. This would free up visas for those we deem to be a benefit to our country, individually.

Our schools are failing and emergency rooms are closing. I think immigration should be limited until they can recover.

#1 in my view is to completely and efficiently seal down the borders to prevent ANY further illegal immigration. Build that wall and fill the borders with armed patrolmen with the authority to shoot if someone tries to cross and does not stop when ordered to do so. Fully monitor people entering the country on visitor, student, or temporary work visas, so that they are located and deported when they overstay.

#2 is to strictly and consistently enforce ALL of the immigration laws, no exception. Nail the employers to the max, to make it no longer financially beneficial to hire illegal immigrants, even if it is to the point of causing the business to go bankrupt. If an business is in operation only based on the ability to hire illegal immigrants for slave labor, then that business has no right to stay in business. Employers found hiring illegal immigrants should be charged with the full costs of all social benefits accessed by those illegal immigrants while in their employ, including the costs of their and their children's education, medical, welfare, etc. and with the full costs of detaining and then deporting those individuals. Also, penalize to the max, those individuals, cities, and states who are found to be NOT enforcing immigration laws and considering themselves to be sanctuaries to illegal immigrants. Anyone found harboring an illegal immigrant should be charged with aiding and abetting a criminal. Give all the police the authority to check the residence status of anyone they come in contact with in the course of their duties. Do not allow ANY access to ANY social benefits to individuals who cannot provide proof of their citizenship/legal resident stautus, including schools and medical care.

#3 is to take away the "anchor baby" loophole to remove that incentive for illegal immigration.

There are many more, but I believe those are the most important to start with.

You know our country was founded by immigrants, as so many came here before the war to save their families from devastation. They worked hard, and were the backbone of our country. The immigration issue, has gotten out of hand because of our govt.If people from other countries want to work here, why is it so hard for them to get a tempt. work visa, so they can work here legally. Instead, our government forces these people to become criminals all because they want to work so they can support their families, in other countries, like Mexico for one.I am married to a Japanese woman, and I could not believe what we had to go through to get her permanent resident card. When we went to immigration, they treated us like some criminal, and the immigration officer, was not even from this country. If I or anybody else gets married, the spouse should automatically have permanent residency. I know there is a lot of lying to the govern. from some people, as when they get married, they only do this so they can live here, but because of this, it makes it hard for thehonest people. Immigration has become like the Almighty as they can make or break you and your loved ones if they feel you are not legitimate. I do not like the fact that people come to ourcountry illegally, and do not go through the proper procedures, to get a visa etc but the visa process has become very difficult . People think that the illegalls, do not pay taxes, but guess what , they do, but because their ID'S are illegal, the taxes get taken out of their paychecks, but where do they go? Those people do not file taxes, so where does all that money go? I do feel that because we have so many illegals, it has caused the hourly pay to drop, because they will work very cheap, and it screws up the job market for American citizens, and they get lower pay because of this. In Mexico they make maybe 6 dollars a day. so when they come here wow, 10dollars an hour is a whole lot of money, and of course that money goes back to Mexico to take care of their families. I would make it easier for people who get married to get their resident card, when one of them is from another country, and I would give tempt. work visa's to some, who want to work here, but that should be regulated, so it does not put us out of work. I hope this gives you some idea's. good luck............

I'm not exactly sure if immigration should be illegal or not. This country was created by immigrants. If it is illegal then don't prosecute the illegal immigrants. Send them back to Mexico. This would save us a lot of money even if they keep coming back we won't have to buy food and stuff for them.

Almost 100% of the aliens entering this country are fron non-European countries. They have no appreciation for Western Civilization, Democracy, The Judeo-Christian religions, and many of them are socialists and communists. These immigrants do not fit well into the American culture. The illegal aliens are mostly unskilled, ignorant, peasants who are a net drain on our society.

We need to have a time out on immigration in order to assimilate those who are already here. The illegals should be deported ASAP. No amnesty for those who are in the US illegally! Kennedy, McCain, and Bush are intent on giving citizenship to 12 to 28 million third-world illegal aliens who will alter this country and turn it into another third-world nation. They are traitors to their country and traitors to Western Civilization.

Well, the wall on the southern border still needs to be built. Hopefully, we will address this problem soon.
