Everyone else has said well enough. In this nation, I have only seen non-Christians celebrate this holiday, by drinking green beer, and trying their hardest to act like a drunken Irishman. I would be offended if I were Irish by the whole idea. My ancestors from that part of the world happened to be Scottish, but I don't really know how they celebrate the holiday either. As a Christian, I have never seen a Catholic celebration of St. Patrick. Which disciple was he? What made him a saint anyway? Does the pope have the authority to name people as holier than the rest of human kind? According to the Holy Bible, all that serve God may be called saints. What kind of blanket statement do you, the asker of this question, wish to place me under? Jesus taught us to worship and serve only God. He warned us away from worshiping another human, or any other thing created. You really should not attack other Christians (if indeed you are one by virtue of your denominational membership), and save the Christian bashing for the atheists on this forum.

One indignant display does not deserve another. While non-Catholic Christians are wrong to chide Catholics for celebrating Saint Patrick's Day, it is equally wrong for you to chide them in return.
Saint Patrick's Day is a day when "everyone is Irish". The day breaks down all barriers of nationality so that we may celebrate a great saint as a united group.
Just as national barriers are broken on Saint Patrick's Day, so to are the religious ones. There doesn't have to be Baptists, Fundamentalists, Evangelicals, even Catholics, on this day.
All we have to be is one group, united in veration of Saint Patrick and worship of our common Lord Jesus. That one day serves as an example of how we all, Catholic and non-Catholic, should conduct ourselves every other day of the year.

Many Baptists and Protestants celebrate St. Patrick's day if they're Irish because they just don't care or don't know about the Saint Patrick of Ireland.

You must first understand that the word "wine" during Biblical times could refer to unfermented grape juice (which Christ drank) or the alcoholic wine, which is forbidden by Scripture. The verses below describe how God feels about imbibing alcoholic beverages:
Pro 23:31
"Look not thou upon the wine when it is red, when it giveth his colour in the cup, [when] it moveth itself aright.
Pro 23:32
At the last it biteth like a serpent, and stingeth like an adder.
Pro 23:33
Thine eyes shall behold strange women, and thine heart shall utter perverse things.
Pro 23:34
Yea, thou shalt be as he that lieth down in the midst of the sea, or as he that lieth upon the top of a mast.
Pro 23:35
They have stricken me, [shalt thou say, and] I was not sick; they have beaten me, [and] I felt [it] not: when shall I awake? I will seek it yet again.

Will your religion save you?
Do you know why you need Jesus?
Or do you just claim denomination?
Are you a good person? What a question, most of us believe that we are good people because we can look around and find someone that is far worse than we are. We can always point to the things that we think make us a good person.
But how good are we really? Dare we take this test and look at ourselves and see if we really are good? Hmmm.
If you are willing try this and see just how good a person you are.
The Good Person Test.
How will you do? Pass or fail?
Have you ever told a lie?
Doesn't matter how big or small, just a lie.
What does that make you? Before answering think about this, if I told you a lie what would you call me? A liar?
Have you ever stolen anything? Cost doesn't matter, a piece of gum, failed to give back an ink pen that you borrowed, anything.
What does that make you?
Jesus said, "You know the saying of old, you shall not commit adultery but I say that if look at someone to lust after them you have committed adultery in your heart.
Have you ever lusted?
Jesus said that hate is equal to murder.
Have you ever hated anyone?
See one day we all are going to stand before a Holy God on Judgment Day and he is going to judge us based on His Holy Law, the Ten Commandments. These are just 4 of them and how did you do? Guilty? I have broken all of these and more, what about you? How well will you do on Judgment Day?
If we break just one point of God's Law we are guilty of breaking all the law and Gods Wrath abides upon us all. Based on God's Law we are all guilty and all are deserving of punishment. But there is an out for us.
Jesus paid the price for each one of us, took on himself God's Wrath so we wouldn't have to face it on our own. Jesus was beaten, battered, bleed and died so we wouldn't have to face God's Wrath. He rose again so that we would life in his presence. Our crimes, His payment.
The real question is where will you stand on Judgment Day. Pay yourself or have it paid for you. Think about it.

it depends , on whether they are true christians or not...we have just Jesus the Christ to worship for He was the one who died for us, not st patrick , st patrick maybe a saintly person , but its really stupid to worship or venerate a dead person , or pray to them , their journey is over , they cant hear or feel or see , despite what the world thinks about the souls being immortal , they are not they are asleep , they do not feel anymore ..Jesus was the first person who was raised , cos death wasnt to have dominion over someone who hadnt sinned at all...
For indeed the wages of sin is death , what about the person who never sinned..........death could have no dominion on him, it wasnt fair .......He had to be raised amen! and because He lives i can face 2moro

Baptists don't worship dead people. I think that it is sad that people use this day as an excuse to sin.

Chloe we should follow the example such great Saints and not seek conflicts with our neighbors. We can even invite them to celebrate with us. Many will. Peace be with you.
