Considering that 93 million miles away is a huge ball of fire that goes through its own cycles of solar activity, and considering the sheer f**king size of this ball of fire we call THE SUN, surely this has more effect than the humans possibly could.
Lets debate it!

humans kill forrests
forrests absorb heat from the sun and produce humidity
people have been removing forrests for ever
and with all these forrests gone the place get hotter just from that ,not even talking about less ozone that protects us fro the suns rays that is on top.
go to the countries on the equator ,check what has happened in history
most of Spain is a dessert because of the timber cut to build the Spanish Armada
Lebanon was deforrested to build the Phoenician fleet
Ghengas Kahn burned all the forrest and filled all the wells with sand ,turning vast regions in to desserts in Asia.

listen to what is going on in the many disaster areas on this planet ,(and there are more than ever each year
i have seen lands that have been turned from jungle into desserts by people in a matter of a couple of years ,because of the slash and burn method used by settlers and expanding agriculture, and i have seen rivers dry up because of deforrestation in many places in Africa and Mexico ,

i live now by the side of a river in Mexico where,in 30 years 5 species of fish have become exstinct .
and part of the year the river is dry this is for longer every year because of over use of water by agriculture and as a result of deforrestation.

there are natural cycles in the planets life
but a lot is influenced by mans existance ,and this is increasing with overpopulation, putting strains on Natural resources and increasing contaminations as well as destructions of essential componants the ensure living conditions for all life forms

in North Africa,India,Mexico ,millions of people are effected by land loss and desertification

in recent times thousands of people have died because of exessive heat, usually old people.in India ,Mexico and France,
deforestation causing desertification, the desert conditions causing very cold nights and scorching hot days

in china, thousands of what used to be farmers are running for their lives from the dust storms that have burried their towns and turned their lands into dessert, the globe where they were got to hot for them .
and instead of producing food they are now needing it from some where else, and they will drastically effect the world food prices when they start buying water in the form of grains ,at any cost destabalising governments, in some countries ,could be the result
(are you seeing more Chinese around interested in agricultural lands ,we do here in Mexico)

,the Sahara is growing by 7 kilometers a year
and all of the desserts we know are a results of mans actions ,and they are increasing ,not getting less ,in the dinosaurs days ,there were no desserts.

collectively this planet is drying up because of bad farming practices like, over grazing and fertilizers,

as far as the food production is concerned, Global warming or some of its effects are serious, rising seas result in landloss

each degree rise in temperature means 10%crop loss

more landloss because of desertification every year,we have less areble land to produce food ,for an extra 70 million people ,

and there is less and less water (because of deforestation),to irrigate this production ,
and there are less and less farmers to do it..
who are overpumping deep carbon aquifiers
who are plowing more and more unstable lands because they have lost so many million hectares to desertification ,
because of bad farming practises ,such as using fertilizers and heavy machinary or over grazing

RISING SEAS
The northpole is melting ,and we will know it without ice in our life times.
this does not affect the sea level because it is ice that is already in the water.but the melting ice from Green land and the south pole ,are another matter.

Global warming is in theory reversable, but it will mean global co operation between all countries ,and taking into account human nature and the world politics ,it is unlikely that this will happen,

At least not untill we are all in the middle of planetary disastres and it becomes a battle for the survival of humanity every where.

SOLUTIONS
if you want to help the planet ,plant a tree every week ,if everyone on the planet did we we would be able to reverse the destructive processes

reduce carbon emisions, and they are already working on that by alternative forms of energy and regulations on carbon producing materials, aerosol cans, burning rubbish, industrial chimneys, powerplants etc.

the capture of carbon and the production of water and assist the aquiferous manta.

the world bank pays large subsidies for reforrestation to capture carbon and the best tree for this is the Pawlonia

Waterharvesting projects ,such as millions of small dams.to redirect over ground waterflows from the rains into the ground to supply subteranian water supplies.

the protection of existing forrests.

stop building more highways, urban planning to include vegetation stop building cities encourage people to return to the land to conduct their business from there which now has become possible thanks to the internet.

education to motivate people to auto sufficiency by building more home food gardens.

education on environmental awareness
education on family planning to curb over´populaion

Agricultural education and improvements to follow the principals or sustainability and soil management.

more environmental or land ,design to prevent bush fires, such as--fire breaks

,more dams.regulations and control for public behaviour

alternative effeciant public transport to discourage the use of the internal conbustion engine

recicling wastes,limit water use

The answer is we do not know. Is the sun responsible for the earth heating up? Some say yes some say no. Some say to a degree some say not at all. The American Institute of Physics says that does not discount the idea. But neither do they support it. (http://www.aip.org/pnu/2003/split/642-2.html).

Carbon dioxide accounts for just 0.0383% of the atmosphere. And the man made portion even less. So when you talk about increase in Co2 since 1960 we are talking about an increase of 0.000064! Is that really significant? I do not see how.

Global warming theorists like to point out the Vostok ice core samples shows a correlation between co2 and temperatures. What they fail to say is co2 follows temperature and not the other way round. In other words temperature has an effect on co2 on not co2 on temperature. This puts a dent in the entire theory.

And this is the kicker. The IPCC does not take that data into account. It deems it insignificant. So when critics suggest that the IPCC is selective in the data it chooses are they right? There are theories that try to explain this but no studies. I am not saying those theories are wrong or right, but why does the Ipcc dismiss it?

The IPCC also states that the earth's temperatures for the past millennium were constant and rose during the past century. Their models are based on this. But evidence from tree ring analysis states otherwise. Why do they ignore this fact?

Given the above facts that the IPCC ignores can we say the evidence is overwhelmingly in favor that man made co2 are the cause of the rise in Earth's temperature?

This is part of the denier disinformation campaign. Mars was warming a couple years ago as it approached the Sun on the perigee of its orbit, a simple matter of orbital dynamics. The output of the Sun is closely and accurately monitored. Its output has been a little low in the past few years, but should increase again as we approach the 2011-2012 sunspot maximum. Solar variability at the levels seen the the past few decades is not the dominant driver of Earth climate variability.

In the long term the sun has an enormous effect on our climate, not so much by the amount of heat it gives out as that's constant to within 0.1% in respect of the maximum and minimum energy output during a full sun spot solar cycle, but more in relation to the position of the earth in relation to the sun.

The heat energy received from the sun is 1366 W/m²/yr (Watts per square metre per year) and in the last 250 years has only changed by 0.3 W/m²/yr.

Over periods of many thousands of years the earth 'wobbles' rather like a spinning top. It's called the Milankovitch Cycle.

Earth wobbles slightly up and down (precession), wobbles slightly on it’s axis (axial tilt) and wobbles in its orbit around the sun (eccentricity). These cycles occur over tens of thousands of years and can be mathematically predicted with great accuracy. Such movements do contribute to global warming and cooling but over very long periods of time

Temperature changes on earth are very much a result of our atmosphere and changing climate and weather patterns. If you were to go outside out atmosphere the temperature would be a constant 7 degrees Celsius - assuming you were exposed to the sun (not in earth's shadow) and discounting 'interplanatery radiation' (heat given off by earth).

I live here in Europe.. Up north. Usually we have max about 70cm hard ice on our lakes by the end of the winter but this winter we had only 30cm. So I have no doubt that climate is getting warmer. There are probably many reasons for it and it's sure gonna cause a lot of suffering in the future.

I believe that humans are not the only reason for the climate change. But we sure as h*ll are not making things any better at the moment.

Solar warming is a small factor in Earth's change.

Data. Solar variation is 0.12 watts per meter squared. Man caused warming is 1.6 watts per meter squared, more than ten times as much. Page 4 of this report, which is based on a mountain of peer reviewed data.

Here is what scientists think (because of the data, not because of brilliant insight):

"While evidence suggests fluctuations in solar activity can affect climate on Earth, and that it has done so in the past, the majority of climate scientists and astrophysicists agree that the sun is not to blame for the current and historically sudden uptick in global temperatures on Earth, which seems to be mostly a mess created by our own species."

"Are humans really causing the planet to heat up?"

Yes.

Debate? What's there to debate? Read up on solar cycles, climatology, and some of the scientific papers published regarding global warming and you'll see this. Until then...good luck.

you are defiantly right. BUT, much of the heat produced by the sun is reflected, or bounces off into space. Because the carbon dioxide being produced by humans traps the heat, then the heat increases.
yes, humans are causing the planet to heat up

There is no debate!
Human's contribute to environmental pollution and we should endeavor to clean up after ourselves.
Solar radiation however affects the Earth' heating and cooling cycles.
Global Warming caused by man is HACK science!
