It is not faded all over but in patches so i thought there may be a polish with a red pigment in it that may work, or any suggestions. Many Thanks

A NEW PAINT JOB

Try a cutting compound, all over, applied by hand. If this works follow it with ordinary polish. Alternately take it to a detailer or body shop. Red is one of the most fade-prone colours. Try to keep the car out of the sun.

The fading is typical for a red car. The fading is due to oxidation of the paint, most problematic in areas in direct contact with sunlight.
Use rubbing compound on the entire vehicle. Then wax.
Otherwise, have a detailer compound and wax your car for you.

Paint isn't designed to last over 15 years without fading. I'd suggest a paint job if you plan to keep the vehicle for any length of time.

You can go to an auto body repair shop and they can try to blend the paint but that could be more expensive than getting a new paint job, i would say just get a new paint job and avoid red... and wax your car often.

lots of wax. the red paints fade badly in the sun. High quality wax and follow instructions. repeat about 3 or 4 times. I've done it.

Try using "Klasse", comes in a red plastic rectangular container/bottle. It's amazing for restoring surfaces. Plus you can use it on all kinds of things! You will be amazed! Not too expensive either! (Paid $7-8 on the last bottle I bought) Lasts long and easy to apply, doesn't need as much buffing. Another not bad one was "Wet" (black bottle).

Try a fine rubbing compound. That might lift the light areas. Takes alot of elbow grease though. It will work or it won't. Red has always been a bad color for longevity.

You should look around for a cheap paint job...just get the whole thing repainted so you wont have to keep polishing...

i used color coat before on my dads old red s10. works good short term. also if the clear coat isnt peeling use a buffing compound and buff the paint with a soft bonnet that is what detailers do.
