Look in the phone book, auction sites are listed. You can also check at auto parts stores, they usually will have fliers posted, and the classified ads. You should be able to find something in your area, be aware of what you are purchasing, oftentimes, you are not allowed to drive the car, just start and idle. If you are not knowedgeable about cars, a car auction could prove disappointing, many of the cars have high mileage, transmission/deferential problems, poor maintenance from prior owner. If you hit the police/drug seizure cars, you have alot better quality cars, but still have the issue of not being able to drive the car, so just beware. Good luck.
