It would be the same thing. Beer is still alcohol honey! It still gets you drunk and 20 beers is WAY too much to be drinking everyday.

Any drink that contains alcohol which is consumed 3 or more times a day atleast 3 days a week classifies someone as an alcoholic. Dont give me thumbs down this is what is taught in Tx when you go through classes to become a Drug and Alcohol counselor {was an elective towards my Masters in Psychology}. That being said even if someone who is an "alcoholic" stops drinking for 10 yrs and never has another drop in their life they are still an alcoholic..

First - there are many alcoholics who have stopped drinking, and yet who remain alcoholics and so will be until the day they die.

You can be an alcoholic if you drink nothing but cough syrup. Any drink with enough content to get you drunk - any drink you drink consistently so that you get drunk - any drink you choose more and more frequently over family, activities, other aspects of life.

The drink is not what determines alcoholism but rather how you respond to it. And true for dependency on anything - if you spend more and more time on the computer and you cannot give it up and it starts to dominate other areas of your life, you are becoming computer dependent, and it can be just as destructive as drinking alcoholic or taking drugs.

Usually its when a person drinks alcohol of any kind everyday, dosnt have to mean being drunk just drinking everyday.its an addiction, they have to have it.

Alcoholism is the consumption of or preoccupation with alcoholic beverages to the extent that this behavior interferes with the alcoholic's normal personal, family, social, or work life. Alcohol consumption caused by alcoholism can result in psychological and physiological conditions, and ultimately in death. Alcoholism is one of the world's most costly drug use problems; with the exception of nicotine addiction, alcoholism is more costly to most countries than all other drug use problems combined.

While alcohol or sedative use is required to trigger alcoholism, the biological mechanism of alcoholism is uncertain. For most people, alcohol use poses little to no danger of addiction. Other factors must exist for alcohol use to develop into alcoholism. These factors may include a person's social environment, emotional health and genetic predisposition.

If you need the alcohol just to make it and you can't put it down even if you want to, I think that is what it is.

habitual intoxication; prolonged and excessive intake of alcoholic drinks leading to a breakdown in health and an addiction to alcohol such that abrupt deprivation leads to severe withdrawal symptoms
