The Crusades was a corporate response with what to do with a large surge in population. Send the men to war.
No war? Ah, let's create one.
(This has an awfully familiar ring to it....)

I explain Crusades the same way I explain all godly efforts throughout, spoken of by all the holy prophets since the world began. What? God was on?
Just let me answer the freakin question. The Crusades are a definite chapter of history, and there were several; and yet many innocent people died, but what does it have to do with Jesus being... Hold on, please, I've lost my train of thought...

You are comparing apples and oranges!
The Christians never lost the Crusades, Christians were never IN the Crusades!!!
It depends on your definition of "Christian". To me, a true Christian follows the teachings of God/Jesus, NOT the teachings of men.
Cultural "christians" are Christian in name only, and use the title to commit acts of cruelty that God/Jesus never approved of! If the Pope started a crusade, and his followers killed people who didn't convert to Catholicism, then God was NEVER on their side. God allows us to make a choice on who we want to follow, He doesn't force us to obey Him. Christ is our example, and the role model of a true Christian, not people who would cut your head off for being of a different religion!

The good guys win all the wars. The last crusades were diverted from the original purpose.

I surmise that you got Top Contributer by posting inane stuff such as this, that just clutters up the forum..
Besides, the crusades was started by man, and tell me honestly that you don't fail in anything.

He [God] is not doing too well in the Middle East this time either. Of course, he has a lot of help; Bush, the neocons, and fundamentalist Christians worship failure, defeat, and destruction. In that sense, things are going extremely well - for them.

The Pope looking for new lands and money.
Got beat though.
Got almost into the sea.
All the way out to Spain.
I saw the Alhambra. Wonderful.
They keep it up just as it was in the days of Suleiman.

Fact is that Christians seem to lose often in this life ( as did the Israelites did in their day). You cant quantify whether one has Gods favor or not , by victories gained at anything in this life . Victories are to be appreciated and defeats are meant to teach us or humble us , when needed. We often dont get it though .

You have to remember that Christians & Muslims--like the Jews--all worship the God of Abraham--so if these kissing cousins have an occasional squabble--it should be no big deal!!--LOL--:]
