Just because we don't believe in God doesn't mean we have no reason to do good. What about morals and ethics? We have those too you know.

atheists and pagans who do good things and live good lives do so for the sake of doing them, not because we fear a hell that doesn't exist. we are not forced into good works by dogma and fear of what will happen after we die.

we have plenty of reason to live. we laugh, cry, sing, dance, love and live just like christians. we have the same emotions, and feelings that you do, we just do not share your choice of religion.

speaking from an atheistic point of view (i am pagan now), life is much more precious and wonderful if you believe that there is nothing after death. you are much more likely to live in the moment. you also realize that your interactions with others are more so important because we do have such a short time in this existence.

atheists will not go away. it is unfair to criticize a whole belief system when it is really a few people you are angry at.

Interesting viewpoint. Just because I choose to not make deities a part of my life does not mean my life has no purpose. I live to make those around me happy, to love them, to help them. I try to help my community because those are my neighbors. I do not need a deity or an ancient book to think for me and tell me to do that, I am smart enough to do that on my own. And yes, I believe death to be the end, but, if one has lived well what do they have to fear by that?

And is it ok for you to waste YOUR short life on the internet? Doesn't your particular God demand that you do certain things? There is no mention of the internet or computers in the Bible, Koran, or anywhere else in the ancient teachings. One would think God would have thought of at least that much.
Aren't you supposed to be in church singing songs to the Lord? Do you really think he likes that music? Boring!

I'm working on getting a porpoise.
(My Brooklyn guru insisted it was essential)

And if there isn't one, except that which I choose for myself? Well that's a possibility Shakespeare considered, so I'm in good company.
"Life is a tale told by an idiot, full of sound and fury, signifying nothing."

Enbrace the possibility, unless you're scared and need a security blanket of certainty.

My purpose is to click the "Check Spelling" button before I post.

Are you saying that without belief in an invisible man, your own life is meaningless? That you'd have no concept of principles, self-control, or responsibility? If so, you sound like a really pathetic person.

By the way, does your daddy know you're on his computer? I know it's not a school day, but...

yes because a life of opposing progress is going to be longer...

Perhaps the reason why you don't take your meds is they are the product of science? When was the last time religion delivered. Money and power gained from exploitation not included.

We are not to judge anyones beliefs- rather to be examples as Christ has set forth.

Read John 6:44

It says we have no power to bring un-believers to Christ. God has control over who can come to His Son.

Pray for athiests and all others that if God calls them their hearts will be readt and willing!

Please don't be bitter- yet set a good example :-)

I would like to add that all creation has a purpose on earth. Believers or non-belivers-

what a steaming pile of deplorably spelled malarkey.

I may not have "perpous" in life, but I have a purpose, plenty of reasons to live, and to do good, tyvm.

"GO AWAY"
on your say-so? not bloody likely.

edit: my three year old can spell better than you can.

Personally, I think, most athiest are former church goers who have fallen out of faith or from families who have been Christians and they've become bitter towards God. Remember in the Bible: Cain and Abel, Jacob and Esau. It's sad, but it happens.
