They can make good pets but are a bit yappy! Very cute though, can be forgiven for anyhing. Don't leave it at home for too long, unless you want the neighbours to complain about the barking! Will need to go to puppy classes to learn to socialise etc. as they want to be the dominant one!

My Airedale had one as a friend for 9 years. Bandit, the Tibetan spaniel, went on to live another 10 years. He was great with kids, dogs, cats and even a Guinea pig. Only one bad thing-he snored like there was no tomorrow, great choice for a dog.

I dont know about tibetan spaniels but i know about lhaso apsos. They are also from Tibet but small and cute. They make great family pets but if you spend oo much time with them they shall become dominant.

Never had a tibetian spaniel but have had a tibetian terrier and a shih tzu and both were wonderful pets. I think they are all from the same place just mixed a different way.

i think any dog you get will make a good pet as long as they fit your lifestyle and work schedual...
