I don't hate Christians. I just don't like when some Christians hate me because I don't believe the same as they do. I get told that I'm going to hell. That's not very Christian like, is it?

I am a liberal Christian who tolerates the views of others. I've never been bashed or persecuted by an atheist or other non Christian. However, I have been bashed, screamed at, ranted at, tuned out, excluded, and had nasty comments hurled at me by so called 'good, bible believing, Christian people.'
I think the issue that many take with some Christians is the general unwillingness to enter into a debate that follows the principles of logic and fair dialogue, closed mindedness, and an overall sense of superiority. That is what gets under most people's skin so much, including mine. I'm not suggesting you are such a person because I do not know you, this is my observation and experience however.

Wow did you ever miss the point. No one you're talking about thinks they are better than god, or that they know more than god, because they do not believe in any god in the first place. You DO understand that, right? One cannot believe they are 'better' than a thing that they don't believe exists to begin with. Get it? What YOU see as 'hatred' is just disgust at the pompousness and arrogance of the proseletyzers. What you see as 'resentment' is actually just disdain. The sooner you understand this, the clearer will be your vision.

What the "haters & bashers" and other trolls know is that people without wisdom will answer thier questions either returning in kind or trying to teach something to someone who doesn't want it taught.
And I am talking about the ones who post 'questions' that are obviously insulting, don't pertain to R&S, or are obviously 'stupid' questions that really don't make any sense at all to anyone with a brain.
Best solution - ignore them

As an ex-christian I feel fully entitled to give my views on what I think the religion is all about. If others choose to follow that religion it is their choice but that doesn't mean I agree with the basis of the religion.
There is no proof of deities - the bible is not proof it is merely a book of human bias. There is no proof also that they do not exist. Therefore I choose to not include deities in my life.
See, you state your question as though 'God' is an absolute and that is your right; however, it is my right to say that I feel it is an unprovable entity and that religion itself is just a tool to control others. That's the nice thing about America, we each get the freedom to say what we will.

Who hates Christians? you need to coach me the place some one hates Christians. I'v considered this on right here till now, and that i nevertheless do no longer understand why. Are you only attempting ti goad some one into admitting that they hate Christians. you have a lot of human beings who think of liberals do, yet I even have on no account heard one say they do. that's only like repubs that say they are no longer racist, which i comprehend they're.

The Christian god is but one conception of god. There are others. I have to wonder what it is you call hatred and bashing? Is it hatred and bashing to have a different belief of who or what God is than mainstream Christianity?
I wish some Christians would stop playing the victim all the time. There are plenty of so called Christians who bash others for their beliefs as well. Respect is a two way street.

Alright... first of all... what absurd questions? Besides asking if atheists enjoy baked potatoes, I think I ask some pretty serious questions. And SOMETIMES my answers are offensive, but only when I'm responding to a troll or someone who has preempted me with rudeness. Usually my answers are very straightforward, though they may not be what Christians want to hear. That's not "being offensive", that's being honest. I don't get MAD when Christians are honest about their beliefs, I just disagree.
Secondly, who have I persecuted? I seek to persecute none. I support religious freedom, and I've never swayed from that stance. Be Christian, Muslim, Buddhist, Wiccan, Satanist, Pagan, nihilist, etc... just don't do anything that infringes upon my rights or violated the separation of church and state. That's it, that's all, and if you don't like it and still feel persecuted, tough noogies.
Don't I know God loves me? I'm an atheist. Do you know what that means? No, really, I'm not being snide... I really wonder if you know what that means. See... being an atheist... I lack belief in the Judeo-Christian deity and every other supposed "higher power" that anyone has ever named or conceived of, so asking me if I know "God loves me" is like asking if I know that some fictional character experiences some kind of emotion in the real world.
I don't hate you. I don't resent the faithful... just some of the decisions they seem to think they deserve to make for the rest of us when it comes to voting and legislation and social policy. Many don't believe in God or Christ and should not be forced to adhere to any specific standards to which only the faithful must adhere, and yet many Christians feel that they are being persecuted unless their religious doctrine is favored above all.

Uh, I believe that Christians do more than reciprocate these sentiments, and I never heard an Atheist send anyone to Hell before. I'm a Christian, and each and every one of us is entitled to speak from the heart, whether it is full of hate or sarcasm or kindness etc. Attacking and defending beliefs is a rule here at R&S, but I don't think even one third of us here really honestly mean what we say.

Such "absurd questions" as yours? We don't hate you, we'd like you to stop with the "hate"-accusations, though - that hardly seems Xian. You need to put examples in the Ref. section so we have an inkling of where you're coming from.
And "better than" any god is incongruous. It's like suggesting we think we're better than Mickey Mouse - such a comparison is ludicrous. (Just loved your Xian: "you are still miserable.")
Now about "putting beliefs down", your constant admonitions about your Lord (like he was real) is a de facto put down on our knowledge that the Universe is naturalistic... that there are *no* supernatural or mystical elements at all. Your "Don't you know that God does truely love you and he wants what is best for you?" is especially demeaning. (You misspelt "truly", BTW.)

Answer to quesiton #1: No, it's because THEY think they can speak on behalf of the universe's creator (assuming he/she/it/they exist(s) in the first place) and think they're better than everybody else. Like they're in on some club that promises cash prizes when the game is over.
Answer to quesiton #2: Entertainment, for starters. I don't kid myself into thinking that people are actually going to change their beliefs based on what I say. When you kick somebody's crutch, they just grab on tighter.
Answer to quesiton #3: Yes, that's nice. Bye-bye and thanks for playing.
