I am trying to find good homes for my seven puppies. I had an offer but when I saw where he kept the puppies and how he treated his dogs I would not allow him to have these puppies. They are walker-which is like a hunting dog, and they are mixed with a wonderful dog- a chocoalate lab. There is four females and three males. If you are interested please email me at pegbabb@yahoo.com

A shelter might be a good place to start. Try petfinder.com. But if you cant even afford a $100 to pay for them then how do you plan on taking care of the dog? Vet visits, food, grooming, etc. all cost money. God forbid they ever get hurt or sick. Those vet visits plus medicine can range into the $1000. over time. Dogs are wonderful pets to have just make sure you have the funds available to care for them.

Agreed - ALWAYS go for a rescue shelter dog. You get a wide range to choose from, and most come vaccinated and neutered.
Breeders charge ridiculous sums, and it's hard to be sure you've found a decent one who isn't just in it for the money - which sadly, many of them are.
On the other hand if you can't afford $100, think twice about getting a dog because it's going to cost a lot to keep him properly! Especially as you're after a bigger dog. Pets are like people - if they don't have medical insurance it's gets reeeall pricey when they get ill. Anyway where was I - oh yes - go to a rescue shelter.

try a recue dog , generally shelters dont charge or at least no very much, both my dogs we didnt have to pay to get them, one was a rescue dog and the other was giving the pups away for free, as wanted rid of them asap. having a rescue is a great feeling , esp when u see them so happy and healthy and knowing how bad they had it before. my old dog was in a terrible state so skinny and hair falling out and terribley mis treated so nervous and terrified . it took a good while to get him back in shape, about a year later, such a happy content dog, and so beautiful and healthy. he was the sweetest best natured dog. it broke my heart to think of how sad he was before, so it can be a great feeling to know can make such a difference to their life and happiness.
i think u should try a shelter, it wont cost you anything and there are so many great dogs waiting for someone to give them a home

Shelters, rescue groups.
Most shelter dogs are either spay/neutered, or are given vouchers for the procedures. As well as given basic vaccines and deworming.
Shelters usually have a lot of larger breed dogs, and I am sure they will be happy to adopt to you if they meet the adoption requirments
Dogs are expensive dear. ..not only food, bedding, heartworm preventive, flea control, unexpected medical care, bathing, grooming etc. So I hope 100 dollars isn't going to be your only investment

$100 is just the beginning, you need another $150 for vaccinations deworming and $75 for spaying or neutering, then what about having money to take your dog to the vet if there is an emergency? don't have that? Your poor dog will be screwed. Money for food? each week my dog eats a 25 lb bag of food It is allergic to most foods so I have to buy it at the vet another $35 per week that is $140 per month. then each year his teeth need cleaning that is about $150.00 So your cheap puppy isn't working out to be so cheap is it? hope you don't run out and get one if you haven't saved the money you need. I am sick of questions on YA about my dog is sick and I can't afford to take it to the vet what can I do? help me

The humane society, the ASPCA, and other animal shelters offer all kinds dogs for a modest adoption fee (usually around $40). Just be sure you have money to set aside for vet bills and food and whatnot. My dog was free, but my first vet bill was $340.

I recommend looking on Petfinder.com. If you can't find a dog from a local shelter or rescue group, you can search petfinder.com classified ads. I adopted both of my dogs this way! I think petfinder.com is the BEST site on the whole internet. Have fun and good luck!
