have a sociology prof at my university who shows me bizarre attention. I took one class from him years ago, yet he remember my face when I ran into him at coffee shop. I'm not his student anymor, but he still always stares at me, says hi, ignores all his students when he sees me. My friend, who had his class last semester, and who he ignores when he sees/talks to me, says he has a thing for me.
I asked for advice about internships and he invited me to his office. I went and we spoke for over an hour. It was school-related but most of conversation was about our personal lives. He told me some pretty personal stuff about his life. Also, he knows a couple things about me I didn' tell him. I think he went through my student-file in department. I'm a student-worker. I have an office and work at night. A few times, he has come by my office to say bye. His is a few floors up and swinging by my office is out of his way. He can really stare at me! Am I overreading his interest?

GET IT GURL! that's cute but also scary. i dont think that his signals directly translates to him wanting to having sex but i do however think that he is interested. the things to consider are: is it possible that you two could be together, do you return his interest, can you find one good reason not to be involved with him? if you answered no to any of these questions then you best not get involved with him.

P.S- what's your age difference?

If you are getting warning signals from our instincts, then it would be best to heed them. You could be blunt and address the staring and his other behavior (swinging by your office, etc) and see how he reacts.

Or, if you do not feel safe doing this perhaps you can speak in confidence to an adviser or the head of the department about your concerns.

That man wants sex....then again, all men do. but it seems like this bothers you since you are over here questioning. I'm not sure if he is much older than you or not, but it does seem like he is interested. Men dont go out of their way unless they are interested in you. So, Oh-yeah, he's interested.

Don't take it so serious. He's showing great interest but don't get lured in so easily. If he likes you he will come around.
