How long can it take a person to become a neurosurgeon/neurologists or an ENT?

can I become a doctor by the time I'm 26 and have a salary of more than $70, 000 per year?

Once you are out of your residency, you'll make more than $70,000 if you work full time.

To be a neurologist, you'll need 3 years after med school, so you'd have to finish med school at age 23, college at age 19.

An ENT residency is usually 5-6 years, and neurosurgery is typically 7 years. It is highly unlikely to complete any surgical residency by the age of 26.

CAN you? Possibly. WILL you? Highly unlikely. It's not a race, anyway. Why the rush?

Whether or not you can become a doctor by the time you're 26 depends on how old you are now and how far you are along in medical school. Since you didn't say, you'll have to do the arithmetic yourself. As for making more than 70K a year, that may take a few years more of experience and establishing oneself in the field, most doctors don't make that much at first.

well if you're 26 that's pretty young. The people I've talked to in medical school are in their early twenties. By the time you're 26 yeah you will probably be a doctor, technically, but you'll be in your internship or residency and you'll probably make like $40,000/year i think. you will probably not be so specialized to be a neurosurgeon yet. please email me to talk about anything you find out because I want to be a neurosurgeon too!
