God has made many promises and they are all in the Bible.
The one thing God cannot do is tell a lie or go back on his promises.

I think what people don't understand is that if God is "omnipotent," then all the power in the universe is God's power, and therefore all the power of "evil," of "Satan," is really God's power. And the blame for evil DOES have to come back to God, however we try to distract from the issue. It's meaningless to speak of "free will," or of "rebellion" against God - on man's part or Satan's - if He's all-powerful. If life is a "test," it's a pretty pointless one, because God already knows how we'll fare, and in fact Himself "programmed" us for good or ill, so it's all just the playing-out of a puppet show, at the end of which He gets to roast most of us on the aforementioned skewer.
I'm just pointing out some problems with definitions and dogma as they stand. I've noticed that people will really think I'm "slamming God" if I don't state this flat out. I don't really believe these ideas I'm criticizing, OK? I'm just showing why they're ridiculous.

Of course, gods can pretty much do whatever they want, that's the definition of godliness - all powerful, immortal. But the fact that nobody has a proven connection between a god and anything that's ever happened on this planet pretty much tells you that the gods are pretty hands off.

Now you are getting somewhere!!!!
Next step; determine what God said, and what God did not say (2 Tim. 3:16-17, 2 Tim. 2:15). Easy to say;but not applying those concepts is part of what is dividing Christianity in the USA today!!!!

If you keep poking around in the Religion & Spirituality area, there will be a fair bit of discussion about god.
Some of the "everyone on here" are into needlepoint and photography and rarely see a mention of god.
Yes, I agree. god can do whatever. We are just lab rats in a maze- we have no concept of the experiments being conducted upon us.

I agree. I don't see how anybody can know what any of the gods is planning to do.
None of them has ever told me what they were going to do. (If I ever do hear from a god, I would assume that they were talking to me only - I would not assume that this was meant to be shared with the whole human race.)

God can do all things, but he chooses not to force his will upon us. He allows all the people of the world to make their own choices. He doesn't just put people in hell, he allows his people to decide if they want to go to heaven or hell. Now, you can say you want to go to heaven all you want, but you have to get saved and build a relationship with God. Romans 10:9 says "If you will confess with your mouth, the Lord Jesus and believe within your heart that Christ died for your sins, then you shall be saved.

lol lol lol that's a good one. I see your point - everyone puts words into the mouth of God, but it's their own personal wants and beliefs all incorporated into one big justification for how each of em lives their lives. ( gee sound familiar?) the interpetors of the bible perhaps?

You are right on.
He can do as He pleases and does.
It is the prideful man that thinks he knows what God will do.
He calls the shots not us.
The human view is the prideful view.
How did Satan fall? PRIDE.
Interesting we have a prideful view, don't you think?
You are correct in saying no one knows what is His judgment.
It is HIS judgment.
I'm just glad He judged for me.
