Christians have adopted a text that makes it apprent to them that God has a certain way for us to get into heaven. Thus His Son enters into the picture. The Christ, hence the 'Christians' who believe in him.
According to the most used and oldest of sources about Jesus the Christ, He said it was that way. We are merely relating that to others. Not because of what we think ,might be fair, but because He said that it was His way, and that way was through Him.
So fairness is besides the point. Our opinion is actually a part of our problem. We assume that people all through the ages have had similar mindsets that we currently have. But I must say that people notice in history where they had a different way of seeing things. Christopher Columbus is the more current kicking post, for instance.

Because Jesus said "I am the way, the truth and the life. No man comes to the father except through me."
That's pretty straight to the point.
God is not governed by our understanding of "fairness or common sense" he is so beyond our finite and sin filled minds. His judgement will be perfect, and whoever is in heaven will belong there and whoever is not will belong where they are. I trust him completely!

Well The other faiths don't believe in the same God. And that just being "good" wont get you into heaven. You could be the perfect person on earth and sin once and that sin would be worth the same as murdering someone. Even if it was a little white lie.

If Bill Gates says you must follow these rules to program in my operating system...then who are you to dispute him? When your program doesn't work you should be mad at yourself.
Analogously, if God says these are the rules in my universe, who are you to turn a deaf ear, and then have the nerve to condemn God?
You are talking about concepts you know little about: love, fairness, heaven, faith, Jesus.

You can base your beliefs on your own ponderings and understanding if you like. I choose to base my beliefs outside myself on the Word of God.
According to the Bible, God shows no preference. "He is not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance." God calls all to himself from every nation and every religion. God offers salvation to all. The only condition is that we come through the shed blood of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of our sins. Anyone who comes, regardless of background, upbringing, religion, gender, lifestyle, sins committed--anyone who comes through Jesus will be saved.

Because they've always wanted to be in the "cool group" or the "popular clique." It usually doesn't happen for them on earth, so they believe it will happen for them after they're dead.
