Why do men wear wigs?

Question

They are nearly always obvious e.g. Terry Wogan. If a bloke is bald, no takes the slightest notice. If he wears a wig, everyone starts thinking " Is he wearing......" and young kids point.

I cannot understand it as they far more ridiculous with wigs than they would bald.

Self esteem probably... and to keep the looks they used to have. I suspect losing your hair can radically change your looks and some people may feel a loss of their own identity with it.

Personally I don't care if people wear wigs... if it makes them happier. I certainly didn't realize Terry Wogan wore a wig or toupee (however its spelt).

men typically wear wigs or toupes because they are starting to or are already bald. it's sort of a pride thing i guess. that's what i think anyways.

to change their image and look younger...but women wear wigs too...for all kinds of reasons

i think it is because it is very embarassing. no one wants anyone to see them bald!!! unless thats your hair cut ;)

they are ashamed of what they look like without hair. hair is very important to men and to fathers. guys like hair period.
