This hits home with me. Every day for the past four months, I would wake up at 5:30, go to swim practice, go to school for seven hours, and then go to swim practice again until 6. So after having twelve hours rapped up in school and swimming, I had to really be organized if I wanted to get 8 hours of sleep a night, and maintain good grades in accerlated classes.

You say you are an ambitious teenager, so I assume that you are a pretty intelligent kid who is getting really stressed out and run down with the homework load. Many factors play into you staying healthy, which is the main priority here. First, right when you walk in the door of your house after school or practice, take out your planner or make a list of things that MUST be accomplished that night. Get a snack or whatever you need to do then hit the books. Take a break when you eat dinner, and if you need to watch TV, take a half an hour to an hour and watch after supper, possibly getting in some work between commercials. If you have tests, study right when you get home and then right before bed so everything is fresh in your mind.

Keep a schedule everyday and MAKE SURE that you are eating healthy foods for all three meals and getting AT LEAST 7-8 hours of sleep every night. Taking multivitamins such as Centrum A to Zinc everyday isn't a bad idea either. Sleep has such a huge impact on schoolwork, that it really isn't worth missing. I'm not naive, and I know there are nights where going to bed at a reasonable hour simply isn't an option, but try to keep those kind of nights to a minimum to keep yourself fresh. Good Luck!

try to do the things that are really important to you. (for example watch less TV if you do.) i go to sleep at around 10-11 pm and i am still tired. just set your priorities straight. unless you have a certain activity that you have to do when u come home from school, try starting on your homework right away. good luck.
