I say totally go out with her and have fun but draw the line at going out and having fun...don't get into anything serious because you do work together. Keep it light and don't put your dad in a potentially hard situation just because you're feeling hot for some chick.

Normally I would say go for it, but there are special considerations here with your dad as the boss. That would put him in a very awkward position. If you break up with her and then he has to fire her for some reason, everyone would think it was because of you. Likewise, if she was dating you, did something wrong at work but wasn't fired, everyone would think it was because of you. If she gets a larger raise than someone else even though she deserved it, the other person would say it was because of you dating her. If someone thought she was getting away with doing less work than anyone else, it would be blamed on you dating her. Basically, everyhing in your dad's boss-employee dealings with her would be subject to scrutiny. Your dad's already in that situation by having you as an employee. Your dating this woman would make it doubly hard for him.
HOWEVER, you could ask your dad what he thinks, that you want to take his situation into consideration. He may say "go for it!" He would also respect you for asking him.
But you need to ask yourself these questions first - what if you start dating her but it doesn't work out? Would you still want to work with her? Especially if she broke up with you and you still had feelings for her? Would you be able to handle hearing her talk about going out with other men?
If your dad says go for it and you're willing to accept the risks I've outlined above...have fun!

Starting a relationship at work is generally a bad idea. In the event it falls apart, badly makes it worse, it creates a lot of unnecessary tension and just makes for an unhealthy working environment. And since you work for your dad there and him being the boss, should it go south it would inevitably put him in a very awkward position to loose a good worker should he have to choose to let her go, cuz he would surely keep you there. But I would try to avoid it if possible.

I don't see how you can put your dad in a uncomfortable situation by dating this girl (it's not like you're talking marriage). If you were the boss then I could understand you being hesitant. Allot of my friends that are in relationships actually met at work.
