get your hair in layers it will help with the poofiness. Before you striaghten it use some serum like Paul Mitchell. Then when you straighten it use Frizz-Ease Secret Weapon finishing cream.

I have the same problem. try a smoothing shampoo, and use the same type of conditioner. usually when i straighten my hair, i use a hair gloss. just use a dime size of it in the palm of your hand and rub it through your hair. and then straighten it. hope it works for you.

when you get a hair cut have them thin it. and then try a smoothing serum and a sleek shampoo like Sleek and Shine by pantein or Sleek by garneir fructiese.

Have it layered. You could do long layers and that will take some of the weight out and not be so full.
