I found the book to be very informative and easy to read.

I've lost 17 pounds in 12 days, I'm just concerned that I'm losing too much weight, too quickly. I will admit I haven't followed the guide exactly. I'm not sticking perfectly to the listed foods and meal plans (but mostly) and doing very little exercise, but the weight keeps flying off.

It clearly works and if I'd followed it exactly I think it would scare the living daylights out of me because of the amount that I'd lose. So thanks again for the information. I've never purchased anything like this before because they are usually full of trash, but 3WD has been a pleasant surprise.

Well technically you wont lose weight because muscle weights more than fat. But two things will happen, you will tone up soft areas of your body into muscle and your body will be more defined. Also by lifting weights you will burn fat like you would by doing any other type of exercise. A lot of people like lifting weights because its not an exhausting work-out like jogging or cycling or aerobics, because its not cardio-vascular. So you can stay in one spot or even sit down while you are doing it in the comfort of your own home.

If you are 14 however, be careful, don't use too heavy weights. Repetitions of weights you think too light for you really will work, you might hurt yourself if you use too heavy weights. Remember your body is still growing.

Lifting weights burns more calories and keeps your metabolism up longer throughout the day. You have to remember though, muscle weighs more than fat so you need to go by how your clothes fit too, not just the scale.

Muscle is what burns fat. So yes, building muscle will help you lose fat. Just remember, if you work out a lot and you see that the scale stays the same or even goes up a little, muscle weighs more than fat. You'll see your difference in how your clothes fit you. Don't be a slave to the scale.

The simple answer is because muscle burns fat.

Do long controlled repetitions with lower weights rather than short fast reps with big weights, your body will thank you for it.

I suggest concentrating on losing fat rather than weight because muscle weighs more than fat.

Good luck.
