I have the opportunity to work over in Saudi Arabia, as a westerner is it safe?

Saudi Arabia has the lowest crime rates in the world.
Any danger in Saudi Arabia, will also be a danger anywhere else.

It is a fairly secure country to live in, with a few security breaches every now and then, like the French citizens that got shot. Register yourself at your embassy so that they are aware of you and that you are able to receive security updates, news and current events from them. Some embassies even organize social functions for their citizens. I would advise you check out your future employer very well as there are not many labor and employment laws protecting employees, and they are very frequently taken advantage of.

Yes it is very safe. However you will need to wear Abaya and hijab there if you are a woman. You will also need a Mahram to escort you everywhere if you are a woman. No bringing religious items other than Islamic items into Saudi. No drinking, smoking, dope. No eating pig.

the safest country in this whole world...
u don have to worry goin out getting shot after 10 pm
but if u are christian...well u might gonna suffer a lot..coz u might unable to drink as u wish..and theres no such thing called clubs there//

yeah it is safe but there is danger where ever u go...plus take the offer..the saudi's pay good!! their country flows on oil for god's sakes ..lol

Take it. Usually safe BUT always a risk no days. decide if you are willing to risk it for the money. NOTHING IN THIS WORLD IS SAFE ANYMORE.
