if you took just Jimmie Johnson and put him in the 55 with the rest of Waltrips team remaining I think there would be a slight change because Jimmie is one of the best drivers, especially when cutting through traffic. However would he be a champion probably not. Jimmie won the championship because of the team that Jeff Gordon and Rick Hendrick put together for the 48. Chad Knauss is considered one of the top crew chiefs and is very innovative in his thinking, though sometimes maybe a little too innovative. Also Hendrick Motor Sports as a racing organization helps because they have 4 cars in their team three of which are top 10, the 48, 24, and 5. This allows Jimmie and Knauss to access data from a wider range of cars. Also right now Chevy's are dominating the track do to the sharing that goes on between organizations, something that Dodge is trying to duplicate, when you compare that to a brand new car with little testing data that would make a huge data. Overall I think the 55 would be in better position of course right now that wouldn't take much, but I don't think it matters whose driving you won't see a Toyota in the Chase for a couple of year

He doesn't even drive the Napa #55 Toyota, Michael Waltrip does.

No because if Jimmie Johnson was driving the 55 car, he wouldn't have won the championship last year, someone else would have, He wouldn't have won the race at Las Vegas last week, he would have had to qualify on time like Waltrip, and he would have missed the last three races.

Jimmie Johnson was handed the best equipment, the best trainers, the best team,he would have never won a championship otherwise, all reasons he will never make the hall of fame in Nascar.
If Jimmie were in the #55 yes there would be changes,he wouldn't be winning.

I used to be a Mike Waltrip fan, he's to much into himself now. I feel JJ would be able to qualify the #55. Experienced NASCAR people are saying the downforce has to be improved for Toyota to make them competitive.
It's become so technical now, NASCAR has ruined racing. Yes, NASCAR !

what kind of changes are u talking about?
if u mean making the car run better and be able to qualify for the races, yes i think those changes would be made.
what people dont realize is that mikey waltrip is done.he is washed up and has never and will never amount to anything in nascar.he has no skill for driving.
i dont think that i am any better than he is,if i was i would be making millions sucking at what i do.
