Not exactly. However, this helps you realize when you are full. Usually, expanding your meals over a period of 20 minutes minimum, you will gradually begin to realize that you are full and do not need to consume any more food.

This can help many people simply because it helps them realize that they do not need any more food to eat. When people gulp down their food too quickly, they feel hungry because the food they have just eaten hasn't started to hit the main phases of digestion yet. Therefore if you eat slowly and realize when you are full, you won't be eating as much.

For those who do eat fairly quickly, wait a period of around 20 minutes before getting seconds if you must.

I've tried many diets and couldn't make anything work. Since having my first child, I've been carrying around an extra 30 pounds. This diet just made sense and showed me that everything I was doing before was wrong and a waste of my time.

Kinda', sorta'. It take about 20 minutes for your brain to tell you your stomach is full. Here in America, we usually eat about two helpings of dinner before 20 minutes!! Just by slowing down the eating process, you're letting your brain have time to tell you things, but even if you do eat slower, who's gonna' tell you not to eat all those snacks?

if you eat slower, your body can easily tell when you are full. whether you stop or not is a completely different story. eat slower and stop when you feel full, and eat less altogether. losing weight is hard, just eating slower doesnt do much

Yes, if you eat slower you... get full faster, and you eat less. You of course should exercise as well but this is a good method of losing weight and eating less. Plus, the less that you eat the smaller your stomach will get and then the less you will be hungry.

I do not want to be cynical. But the only way to loose weight is to expend less energy that you input. Weight gain takes a long period of time and weight loss should take a similar time scale. A lifestyle change is my advice, it may seem forever but nice weightloss should ideally target about 12 to 18 months. If all the fads worked no one would be fat

you won't gain as much weight. When you eat slower your body has time to digest the food properly. When you eat fast, your body fills up quicker, but then you're hungry sooner. So, when you eat faster, you actually end up eating more.

Ehhh... it can help but won't do it in itself. If you eat slower you will tend to eat less, your stomach has time to tell you that you're full - stop. However, if you slowly eat that pint of Ben & Jerry's, you're still not gonna lose weight.

no it doesn't. eating slowly is just a way of making sure you don't over eat it is not a method of losing weight. if you continue to eat the wrong kind of foods eating slow really isn't going to make a difference is it.

You dont lose weight simply by eating slower.

Although eating slow and chewing your food well will help you realize when you are full, instead of eating fast and over eating.
