What do you mean by "play fight"??? Martial arts training maybe? If so, then yes, both the Army and Marines do combatives training in various forms.

But "play fight"?????

It's not play-fighting... you're taught the Marine Corps Martial Arts Program (MCMAP)... which is a controlled environment... I don't think they're ever allowed to just go all out during MCMAP... but you DO get to go all-out when padded up and fighting with the Pugil Sticks.... My son loved that...

I recommend you get a book or video about Marine Corps boot camp... it'll answer a LOT of your questions.

I don't know what you consider "play fight"

You get to fight with pugle sticks, wearing football helmets and body armour, which is kind of like in American Gladiators.

I don't know if they still do this, but they would gather everyone in a tight circle and have two Marines go at w/ boxing gloves.
