YES! Unlike other teenagers, you sound like a smart girl. My only regret when i was younger was having a serious relationship. I was 16 and i thought i was ready but looking back, i don't think anyone should have a serious relationships until they are in their 20's - you'll be emotionally and physically ready for it. But you can still be "loyal" when you're in a relationship. That was my problem - i thought being "serious" was the same thing as "loyal". They're two different things. You can still be a loyal good girlfriend without being "too serious" - save that for when you're older but for right now i think you're in the right track- don't let people tell you otherwise, it's your decision and if you feel strongly about it, then go for it! I applaud your maturity and good luck!

You learn from those "little relationships" about dating, so when you feel as though you're ready for a real one, you'd have an idea from first hand experience what it would be like. I'm simply talking about hanging out with a nice guy (if your parents permit). But, if you choose to wait, that's just fine. Only you know when you are ready to have a boyfriend. I'm glad you're not one of those girls who wants a boyfriend just bc everyone else does!

You are on target, You can and might have many BOY-FRIENDS, almost like GIRL-FRIENDS. Relationships come with time, it is a natural progression. At 14 worry more about having fun, future plans, where do you want to be. Your Relationships will develope gradually. Glad you have not fallen into the trap of "They do, Why don't I " Be YOU!

Whatever you are comfortable with is the right thing. Because everyone around you is doing something, does not make it the right thing to do. Stay your course you will be happier than if you get into sometning you are not ready for. Good Luck, stay strong, your 14 enjoy being 14.

It's perfectly fine to wait. In fact, you'll probably save yourself a lot of trouble if you do. I know that might sound a bit like a mother speaking, but I'm actually not out of my teens yet, and definitely not a mother. Again, it's perfectly fine to wait. I'm waiting myself.

Of course it is okay to wait!! While your friends giggle, date, break up, cry, date again, break up, cry, whine, hurt, complain, date again, cry, whine, giggle, and so on..........you'll be focusing on school and developing a strength of character that will attract a truly honorable guy. They will grow into neurotic adults while you are centered and emotionally stable. Trust me. You want to look back on fond memories, not an adolescence riddled with stupid choices. I applaud you!

I think that is wise. In that time you can decide what qualities you would look for in a boy before entering into a relationship.
