If you and another person find each other attractive, then by all means, see where the relationship leads.
If that person's past relationships are a deal breaker for you, then you're probably not going to do well in trying to find the right mate.
Your friend clearly doesn't want him - she broke up with him - so what's the worry?

gosh that's the worst situation you could be in...if this girls your really good Friend then you should back off from the guy as much as you can because that like number ONE Friend rule..don't date their ex's. if you try to stop and continue having strong feeling for him then talk to your Friend about it and see how she feels, if shes hesitant about it then forget about him, and if shes OK with it, and make sure she is, then go for it. good luck :)

If your friend broke up with the guy, then you can date him. If HE broke up with HER, then dating him would hurt her. But to be sure, talk to her about it. If she says, "Good luck," then go for it. After you break up with him, you can swap your horror stories.

Wait until things have totally cooled between them. Otherwise, it will look like you were the reason for the breakup (on his part) and will end your friendship with her. Give them time to distance themselves emotionally. Personally, I think it is tacky; but do what your hearts are telling you.

don't u think she is going to feel worse if u go out with him? that would make her feel more bad give her time to forget about him and then tell her how u feel about him

if you value the friendship then I would say no.What ever happened in their relationship should be clear to you so you must know what kind of guy he is. do what you want to do.

talk to your friend first. just come clean about it. i did. it was awkward, but at least she knows!!
if she goes crazy, then don't go out with him. but if she's calm and says she's fine with it, then do it...i mean she said you could.

all i will say is dont. if you value your friendship..there is always that possibility that they can get back together..it causes so many problems, that i woundnt want to deal with
