When is the best time to add fruit to Jello?

Heeeelllp!!
It has been years since I have tried this and I never had any luck when I did, either it sank...or the Jello was too set to mix it in at all....how do you get (bananas in particular) to mix in the dang Jello?! Grandson is coming tonight...need help quick lol

The best time is after the boiling water has dissolved the gelatin and the cold water has coled the mix, just before you refrigerate it to gel. You can use ice cubes to cool it faster, or chill it awhile before you add the fruit. Do not add fresh pineapple or papaya because they contain enzymes that digest the gelatin.

That is the magic moment! Before it has set to much, or not enough. What I do is take a piece of fruit and add it to the setting jello about every five minutes. When it suspends the fruit, but still smooths on top, then add all the fruit. If it sinks, wait 5 minutes and stir again.

if you're trying to keep the fruit from settling to the bottom, try letting the jello set up a while then put it in. you may have to push it in a little, but it will set up the rest of the way over the top.

I think it might be good to try putting the fruit in right away after the cold water but mixing it every now and then while it is setting in the fridge.

Look on the side of the box of jello.
I think generally you add them about an hour or two after being in the fridge.
