I quit smoking almost five years ago in may and took it up again recently just to loose weight. I am so desperate to lose weight. I've been battling my weight ever since I quit smoking and can't take looking in the mirror anymore!

since a lot of other people are saying that you will lose weight,i guess its somewhat true.but think about what your doing to your body.you get yellow teeth, breath that stinks, wrinkles,a cancer/heart disease/gum disease risk, and you could even die.i think putting all those poisonious chemicals inside yourself just isnt worth it.exercising daily and eating healthy foods are factors to make you lose weight that are better than smoking.much better.

Oh yeah, smoking will do it, and while you're at it, start washing down diet pills with Red Bull... OK, that will work, but it will put you in an early grave. Try this instead:
-Eat less fat and sugar and drink more water (always order water and skip dessert).
-If possible, eat 5-6 smaller meals instead of 3 larger ones (this is difficult, but will raise your metabolism).
-Do 20+ minutes of cardio before breakfast most mornings (anything that will raise your heart rate will do).
-Work out with weights 3 times a week (if you can't afford a gym membership, just buy some dumbbells).
-Get 6-8 hours of sleep every night (preferably 8).
-Start drinking green tea and taking a multi-vitamin every day (recent scientific research suggests that green tea has potent fat-burning properties).
-Be consistent! Most people don't have the time or self-control to really get in shape and lose weight. Good luck.
Of course, there is always liposuction...

Get a diet plan and work out. You can also cut down on portion sizes. Don't shovel your food in. Your not gonna taste anything and you'll probably end up eating more because you didn't taste it the first time. Instead of eating Mc Donalds every day, eat it once a week. You could also try quizno's or subway (whichever you prefer) The offer healthier alternatives then mc donalds. Smoking isn't a good way to lost weight. Good luck!

Smoking to lose weight is definitely not a good way. Wouldn't you rather be fat, than getting cancer or dying? You should just exercise more, and eat healthy, so you can be healthy in all in ways. Smoking isn't a good way of losing weight.

Well, if you want heart disease or cancer why worry about it. You're going the right way. Also you risk making the people around you ill through second hand smoke, not to mention the smell of stale cigarettes on your breath and clothes. I'd sooner take the weight gain and exercise and eat sensibly to get it down.

well.. you probably will lose weight doing this but it isn't healthy of course. you should suck it up and do it the right way. the healthy way. the hard way. it takes more effort but it's so worth it at the end when you see that you finally lost weight and that you did it the right way and if you lose the weight the right way it is more likely to stay off. i strongly suggest you don't risk getting lung cancer just to lose weight.
