Someone prophecied that I would become a lawyer but none of my subjects give me qualifications and I don't exactly want to be a lawyer. I am a christian and do believe in prophecies but this one just doesn't add up.Wwanted to be a doctor but didn't do as well as I needed to my exams, based on exam system in my country, and the 'prophecy' ststed that I would achieve the highest grade in my class; which I didn't. My alternate options placed me in computer science, math and bio, all at the advance level(simular to tertiary level).

Yes GOD's ways are not my ways but as i said nothing adds up to that prophecy. a friend told me to compare it with another but thats he only prophecy I know of.

So how do I know to believe it? Should I?

first of all, there are many people who 'prophesy' over things that may not be of God at all... not all people who claim to be doing God's work are being lead by Him... it sounds more like a psychic reading than a prophesy... they are very different. You need to trust in God alone... he will guide you and let you know what you need to do and where to turn next....

I have heard prophesy from different people that I know is from God for it was about God and how He would work in someone's life... but giving career choices and grade status is a little different than what was prophesied when I have heard it.

I would seek God in this.... not the person who prophesied it... for if it was a true prophesy, we know that it would have come to pass..... correct?

The only way to tell when a prophecy is true is when the prophecy comes true. Apparently the "prophet" who told you this was wrong ... btw, that means they are no prophet, a prophet has to be right 100% of the time or they are not a prophet.

Well, according to scripture, anyone who claims to be speaking for God and is inaccurate in any particular is a false prophet and should be taken outside the city and stoned to death. While that might be a bit harsh, I would not put any credence in a 'prophecy' until the person speaking has first verified his or her credentials by predicting things that actually come to pass.

hmmm

Well if they don't come true that would mean its not true. The prophecy thing is kind of out there for me, but I would say is that you ask the Lord to guide you in the path He wants you to go. Whatever life holds for you make sure its what God would want from you. Just live life and don't worry about what people tell you what your future holds for you, for only God knows such things.

Not all prophecy is true. Normally time will tell. I believe follow what is in your heart. When I receive a prophecy about something that I desire, that is in my heart", then I know it is true. Normally there won't be just one, but God will send many with encouragement and words that you will know are true in your spirit.

When it comes to pass.

If it doesn't come to pass it was not of God.

There was one made of me a long time ago.
I thought it has to happen right away.
It has been happening over the length of 27 years.
It is still happening even now.
To what end?
I'll have to wait and see.

I knew a person who would go from church to church looking for a prophet. All kinds of things were said to her. None came to pass.
Be careful!!!!!!!!!

If it does not add up, and there is no scriptural basis or confirmation, then pray, if you do not feel a confirmation in your spirit, then it is a false prophesy. Jesus warned us that
many false prophets would come in His name. He also taught us to use Discernment of Spirit, and to reject anything that does not conform to the truth.

When listening to prophecy the bible tells us to test the spirit to see if it is of God, because there are false spirits and false prophets.

When a supposed prophet predicts something it must be specific and it must come true. If they have not demonstrated what they said comes true first, then don't listen to them. They are a false prophet. Don't accept and disregard their word as true until they have demonstrated there word to be true. This is but one test.
