Gen 3:15 And I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and between thy seed and her seed; it shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise his heel.

SHALL bruise thy head. future tense. Christ beat Satan at the cross. Satan was using our own sin to defeat and destroy us....trying to thwart the plan of God, but Jesus defeated Satan and his plan at the cross. Game over...satan is already defeated. He will now try to keep people from knowing the truth so they won't place their faith in Christ and be lost. He knows he's going down (on Judgement day) and he want's to take as many of us with him as possible. He'll attack the divinity of Christ...the love of God, the authenticity and authority of scripture...the attributes of God anything he can wiggle his way into to keep people from believing. And so many fall into the trap today.

I don't know what Calvary is, but the bruising of Satan has not yet occurred.

The prophecy at Genesis 3:15 has only been half fulfilled. Satan "bruised" Jesus in the heel when he was put to death, but it was not a lasting effect, since Jesus was resurrected 3 days later.

Satan's bruising will be in the head in the sense that he will not recover from it, much like when one of us is seriously injured in the head- we don't usually make it out ok if it is devastating enough.

Revelation foretells the time after the battle of Armageddon when Satan and his demons will be imprisoned for 1,000 years and then, after a brief trial for us humans, will be destroyed forever. That is the head bruising that Genesis refers to.

PS: You are right about him having power. "The whole world is lying in the power of the wicked one." 1 John 5:18

Are the serpent and Satan really the same thing? Satan was/is an angel of Yahweh and did only as Yahweh commanded him to do. Satan's job is to tempt humanity, he is an adversary of man, not Yahweh. The serpent, on the other hand, is an adversary of Yahweh. Who was the serpent really? Notice that the serpent told the whole truth, and knew what would happen if A&E ate from the Tree of Gnosis.

What power of Satan are you refering to specifically. The power to lie, to deceive, to mock, etc.? Have you ever read the book of Job? Satan only has power that God allows Satan to have and Satan's power is temporary. God the creator and author of life can restore life? Can Satan do that? No. God has allowed Satan to continue for now until the time of the Gentiles is complete, then Christ will return and rule for a thousand years. Israel will be restored by God Himself.
