The chances of finding a tomb with the exact names of the ones related to Jesus in the bible are pretty slim although those names were common then.
The other evidence that would "prove" the bones were of Jesus is to force the people who say they have "Shrouds", Bloody pieces of the original cross, and other things that they claim actually touched Jesus and do DNA tests on them to compare to the bones in the tomb.
Either way, it does manage to cast reasonable doubt. Either the things that "prove" the existance of Jesus in the religious museums are false and will be proven so or the bones are false. Too many people claim to have pieces of the original "Jesus" and they will be brought to light shortly. (Of course I don't believe the things people claim to "own" are true and believe the bones in the tomb are not valid proof of anything.)
The Bone in Tomb thing will bring to light other falsehoods so it does serve a purpose.

Most atheists would consider Jesus on par with Mohammad or Buddha; very incredible human beings without any special divine connection. The question of his tomb would be considered one of archeology not spirituality. It is much harder to prove human actions from 2000 years ago then it is to prove cosmological actions from 4 Billion years ago. So the answer of his tomb may never be known, but is irrelevant to atheists and probably many Christians as well.

atheists dont care. It's not like all atheists combined their recourses to prove that they found the tomb of jesus. There is a lot of statistical evidence because of the names. They actually found hundreds of tombs like that one, but none of them had a jesus son of joseph, and mary tomb in them.
You should do some actually research instead of just guessing at what evidence there is... you make christians look like morons

What do I think ? I think that they found a bunch of old bones. They will never really know who's bones they really are. When names like Joseph, John, Paul, and others are found on old tombs, they're not necessarily the same people who are mentioned in the bible. Those names were very common.

To claim with confidence that you have Jesus' bones, you have to first believe that a man called Jesus existed and that there was something special about him. Most atheists (at least the ones I know, myself included) don't believe that. So your theory about the guy being atheist falls flat.

Who told you that Atheists believe it to be the actual tomb of Jesus? Most non Christians think it is worthy of more investigation is all.

You don't understand how atheists think. We are by and large critical thinkers. We don't believe that they found the bones of Jesus. Almost all of us believe it's a hoax. You are a wishful thinker. Anything that would help your cause, you are willing to believe. We wouldn't be atheists if we thought like you did.

Most atheists I know don't think there's enough evidence to support the claim that what was found belonged to the Jesus of the Bible.

Do we think that? I'm an atheist, and I don't remember thinking that. I don't know who found the bones, or what religion they may or may not have been, but I'd like to know how they'll prove their theory.

"theres no real evidence"
There's no real evidence that Jesus is the son of god, or that there even is a god, but many people believe it, anyway. You said it yourself. There are thousands of other religions that could be right, rather than Christianity. How can they be proven right or wrong?
