It's a scary thought, but you will probably find that your insurance will cost more than the car...

Insurance depends on multiple variables: driving age, history, medical issues, outside stress, make of car, drivers ed, etc. Now insurance is more expensive for people from 16-24, then it starts to go down again until you reach about 45 or so. Liability is cheaper than full coverage, meaning that your insurance company will pay whoever is wronged in the accident.

for a young driver you can expect to pay at least a 4 digit sum or if your very lucky a very high 3 digit sum.

unfortunately this is down to the idiotic drivers who get behind the wheel a day after passing their test thinking they can drive like Nigel mansel and end up wrapped around some lampost or killing someone else.

my best advice to you is try to get on your parents insurance as its a tad cheaper plus you get to understand how expensive insurance is, and if you should have a knock or something worse then you can expect more than a knock off your parents when they find out!!!!

Frankly it's impossible to estimate, but it will be expensive, that's for sure.
It depends not only on your good self but on the car, where you live, where the car is kept . . .

As an experiment you could look at an online quote for whatever car you may be thinking of, change the details around and see what difference it makes etc. You don't have to take it further, just do it as a "what if" type exercise.
