The orthodox Muslim view about Jesus (peace be upon him) is that God raised him up to himself so he is heaven not on the earth. Some groups claim the word used in the Quran means to exalt him and Jesus actually is buried on earth -but this view is not accepted by mainstream Muslims.

I dont think it would affect Muslims beliefs as much as Christians since we Muslims believe that while Jesus was one of the greatest prophets and one of the greatest of God's creation he was also a human being

God knows best

Didn't anyone here see the documentary on the Jesus bones?
I don't see how you can speculate if you didn't !!
You don't have to believe,, not all tests are done.
But the box (coffin) was clearly marked to Jesus and the family name. (according to the author and officials)
Technically it should do nothing except prove the Bible books both OT & NT are just historical fairytales.
PS:: there was DNA on the Shroud of Turin.. If it matches the bones in question ..THEN the faithfull have some to make some explantions.
Someone want to waste points??
Post Q's speculating on what will happen IF the bones and other information from the tomb reveil they are Jesus.
This one could go on for weeks.

Theres not a single verse in the Quran that says Jesus is coming back.

It must be something that got passed over from christianity.

For one thing the prophet himself, never really prophesized future events beyond the scope of what the Quran said. That would go against the idea that no one but God knows the future.

Plus, all the signs of the hour thing is exaggerated.

No one knows when the Hour will come. and that is why we cant relax.

God could at any time change His mind and bring the Day of Judgement upon us.

Our duty as muslims is to realize the hour is close at hand, and we must work toward improving ourselves instead of looking for some hero to come and save us.

If Jesus bones were actually found and it could be proved conclusively then every religion on Earth would be effected by it. As it was only a publicity stunt no religion on Earth was effected by it. There are only a few scatterbrains left who even remember the incident.

It won't affect them at all. Muslims believe that Jesus existed. But they don't view him as the Messiah. Islam views Jesus as a prophet. Nothing more and nothing less.

I dont dispute they found bones....but I am wondering how they know that those bones are Jesus's bones...and anyways finding Jesus's bones would dispute the bible's claim that he ascended to heaven.

It didn't change our believe even a bit, because we believe that he is alive and these bones do not belong to him at All, as a matter of fact we muslims are more strick in our believes and we do not let such things effect our believes.........I just heard this as a new "story' which has no connection with the reality...we don't let ourselves bothered by such false things actualy !

the bones are not his.

People need to stop bringing up the "tomb of Jesus", because in reality it has hardly any evidence whatsoever. Bringing it up is nothing but a mockery of religion, and a defemation of the intellect.

Wow. I'm shocked there's still someone out there who believes they found bones in any of the ossuaries.

For the record, the ossuaries were empty.
