I recently purchased a laptop from Best Buy online. There was an attempted delivery which I was not home for. I went to the UPS location to pick it up that night. I was given only the printer that came with it, not the laptop. I waited for a half hour while someone went to look for it, and was informed that it was not there, but they did have records showing it had been brought back to the location. I was told it may have been stolen by an employee. Best Buy currently has an open investigation about the laptop, and I am being sent a new one. Has this ever happened to anyone else?

Maybe you should read the whole post instead of just blabing away. I was told it was stolen. It is being investigated.

Things happen with UPS. I once worked for a small company that sent a piece of test equipment in for a small repair -- one broken pin on one connector. The repair company called us and said they couldn't possibly repair it -- when we asked why, they described it. It was smashed, covered in oil, almost unrecognizable. Turns out that something leaked from another package onto ours and the oil melted our foam padding. UPS just put it in another box, no padding, and sent it on its way. Luckily, we had fully insured it and UPS quickly paid up after our complaint.

So, your problem is unfortunate, but not a big surprise in the world of UPS...

Good Luck with your new laptop...

Don't assume UPS stole your laptop. UPS has many employees working for them and it could be as simple as it was put back in the wrong place (UPS hubs are huge). They handle millions of packages everyday...why would they target your laptop? I'm not saying its impossible just unlikely. It will be investigated and if UPS is at fault they will pay for it. You will not be held responsible for it, nor will Best Buy.
