How about picking up litter? You could do this in just about any location and it wouldn't require driving.

We live in the middle of nowhere to and I often times see home owners out along the rural route picking up littler people have thrown from cars.

Another idea would be to provide some landscape to the school in the way of flowers, or a bush or something. That could easily take up 10 hours.

If you have a church close by ask the Pastor what you could do to there.
If you have an elderly neighbor offer to do things around the house and yard.
At school ask your teacher if there is any thing she knows of that needs to be done.
Community service can be many things and done almost anywhere.

Contact your local volunteer center. They can give you several ideas about things you can do that match your interests.

Your local volunteer center is run through the United Way of Pierce County:

Volunteer centers are great resources to help you find specific volunteer/community service opportunities that match your interests and can work with you if you have specific area limitations.

Through my volunteer center, I tutor children at the local library, and clean up some local parks. So, I'm sure they can work with you to help you find something locally, or perhaps they can refer you to a virtual project that can be done at home.

Good luck!

Hi There,

I suggest that you maybe stay in town for a few days to complete your Community service. The ideal place would be at a Hospital, and who knows, they might just ask you to come and help them over holidays. You could also start a very good carreer in medical fields.

Check with your Fire Department/Fire Protection District. They may be on the list for the County. Also, check with your County Government office for info.
