When someone goes to the back of the pack after qualifying they move the people up directly behind him instead of shift the entire field. Always been like that.

This has always been the case. Newman gets credit for the pole and gets to drive around behind the pace car during the pace laps, and just before they go green, he pulls out and falls to the end of the field. Jimmie is not credited the pole. Can you imagine how crazy it would be if everyone had to shift a lane to the next starting position??? Half the field would be wrecked before the race started!! And, JJ is not the only person who benefits. Everyone on the inside row does, as they can move up a row.

If you kept up with the point standing, you would understand why Johnson was put on the pole instead of Sadler. When you blow an engine that means your out. So the next race you start at the rear of the pack. There is nothing wrong with Nascar or the rules, people just don't take the time to learn and understand them.

Has been that way for years. Newman drops back before the green, odd numbered cars are on the inside, Newman drops to 43rd, inside, which means 3rd goes to first, 5th to 3rd, etc...

renegadesail is another person that needs to learn the rules....EZZ17 is correct....they move the ENTIRE line forward, not second pole sitter etc up......
Great job EZZ17
So, has to your bias comment, it only holds weight when the Dale Jr. caution comes out.
