it depends on how old they are. How old is this guy and how old is your friend.

The older you get the less important age is. Makes sense because when you are young, you are developing at a faster rate, and these really change your abilities. You are born helpless but in a couple year you can walk and talk. You have nothing in common with a 7 year old, and as a 7 year old you wouldn't consider a baby your best hangout buddy. Same with high schoolers dating grade schoolers...not much in common, they just aren't in the same phase of life. Gets tricky legal wise, when one is a minor and the other an adult but it happens. After you reach adulthood these stages of development get more broad and less defined...there are starting out years, career years, young family years, empty nesting, retirement, and then various stages of being elderly where your activities and peer group is defined by your abilities and medical condition.
As an adult, your "peers" are a bigger age group and defined by social and economic ideas...what you are up to, what you can afford to do, what your emphasis in life is.
So I suppose if these people have anything to offer each other and it is legal, then its cool. If there is an element of using the other or breaking the law...then it's not.

What kind of ages are we talking about? 16 and 23 or like 25 and 32 or like 34 and 41? I think it depends on the ages. If you are 23 and you are dating a 16 year old guy then I think you have a problem. If you are 32 and dating a 25 year old guy then at least it's legal. The older you get the more acceptable I think it becomes.

It depends on how old they are overall. If one is 90 and the other one is 83, it's not a big deal. Even 30 and 23 might be ok.
In the teens, though, 7 years is a *huge* age difference, so you should definitely say something if that's the case. Your friend could get into all sorts of trouble, for example jail if there's sexual contact and he's a minor.

I have been in the same situation before and you should at least tell your friend of the concequences of dating someone 7 years younger than her. My friend did the samething and everyone kept yelling at her 'Sagitory rape' it was awful and the relationship didn't last long at all. I would suggest to tell your friend something and if she dosen't listen to you tell her you'll support her the whole way anyways. Even if you don't approve. But you may not want to tell her parents because a law suit and come up from the kids parents.

once you are about 25, any age from there up is at about the same mentality (unless you are REALLY old, lol). A 25 year old could probably date a 45 year old and be happy. As long as this person is happy and the younger one is legal (over 18), I have no beef.

It depends on what her age is if she's around 20...then no, it's definetely not ok. If she's 30 or so and still looks young and dosen't look like a strange couple while around him then it's fine. As long as the guy thinks it's fine too.

It depends on how old she is.. If he is a minor then no she should not be dating him.. I once dated a guy 10 years younger than me, I got out quick as I noticed his maturity level was nowhere near mine.

it is perfectly OK to go out with some one younger or older than you. after all it is Their relationship. not ours. people who judge them are making the mistake of applying their beliefs to some one else. Sure we all make judgments. but they should be to do with things that affect us. Not how other people should live. we live out lives according to what we feel is right. not everyone is going to think or feel the same. best to keep their noses to themselves.
