That is true. It has been the Christians who persecute just about everyone who disagrees with them, but not always the case. Everyone discriminates.

Gotta admit, that's certainly an interesting way to look at it. :-)
Like it or lump it, we Catholics are very much Christians. We worship the one living and true God, Who sent His only-begotten Son Jesus into the world so that anyone who believes in Him shall not perish, but have life everlasting. We know that the only means of salvation is through the shed blood of Jesus on the Cross.
Uh gee, guys, I'm pretty sure that makes us Christians. And if it doesn't, I suggest that a whole lot of Protestants out there need to be very worried about their own salvation since it's based on the very same thing that ours is.

You are wrong in a couple of areas. First Christians did not steal Christianity from Catholics, in fact, Christians existed for 300 years before Catholicism even started in the time of Constantine. And the reason many Christians do not think of Catholics as Christian goes back to the reformation. The main reason that Catholics protested against their own than religion led by Martin Luther was all over the doctrine of how a person becomes a Christian. Martin Luther taught that people were saved by faith alone and not by works as the catholic church taught. Catholicism today still teaches that people are saved by the church through the sacraments the traditions confession baptism and a number of other works. Protestants believe that will not save you and therefore consider that Catholics are not true Christians. We believe that there are Catholics who are Christians but that no one would ever gets saved through catholic teaching it is not a salvation teaching.

It is confusing. For some Christians the only people worthy of the name are protestant Christians. So indeed, Catholics are excluded.
In Dutch there is a pronounciation-difference, that makes it clearer. Christenen (orthodox protestant Christians) call themselves that with a Dutch G - spelled CH. Every other Christian is called 'Christen' (or plural Christenen) where the CH is pronounced as a K.

People.....this is why we have hate in this world.
Not pointing fingers here, but just calling it out in general, cause I see it everywhere, and it needs to stop, by all.
"so called Christians" is a slang....it would be like me saying "those odd catholics" or something similar.
For one to get respect, one must also give it.....remember G_D's rule? " Do onto others as you wish them to do upon you ". Ring a bell with anyone?
Just cause 1, 2, 10, 100 people say something, and it upsets you, that does not mean all are like that. Just cause your preacher, minister, pope stands up and says something, that does not mean it is true. Just read the Bible, He tells us over n over n OVER again to watch the fruit of those around us, and realize what good fruit is and what is spoiled fruit.
We have over 6 billion people on this earth.....lets all start acting like brothers....cause if we don't.....WE will destroy this world....NOT the NWO and their nukes and evil plans.
No one should judge another religion on the basic facts of G_D split man up upon this earth and separated us. Then HE went on and told us to NOT worry about the world and what happens within it and says to worry about our own back yard.
If we all had FOLLOWED this simple rule, there would be no religion hatred let alone hatred of another race. For we would not know of each other to have such hatred.

I'm Protestant and could never figure out why Catholics and Protestants fight. The Lord would be pretty angry knowing that Catholics and Protestants, both being part of the body of Christ, fight and say that one is less Christian than the other.
Loving thy neighbor doesn't just mean loving the person that lives next door to you.

What are you on about? A Christian is a follower of Christ. A Catholic is a follower of the Catholic Catechism which is based on Christian teachings from the bible. Therefore you are a Christian who is a member of the Catholic church.

Catholics are Christians. But it is interesting that major parts of the cannon from Catholicism to Protestantism change. For instance, The Jewish, Catholic and Protestant versions of the Ten Commandments are all different from one another. SO much for the infallible word of god.

Read the history of Martin and the Protestant Reformation. The catholic church has, over the centuries, grown away from biblical teachings and added their own ideas. But to be a christian, you must be born again. Catholics (and my husband was raised in the catholic church) are often incorrectly taught that they are christians merely because they are catholic. Add to this the worship of Mary and the saints, and you have seriously deviated from the word of God.

Go to Google and type "No True Scotsman Fallacy" into the search box and click search. I think your search results will give a good definition of what they are saying when they say this.
They just hate anyone who thinks differently from them, or anyone who is different in any way. Just ignore them. And feel sorry for them. Imagine how dull life must be for them.
