I crush cornflakes and use them instead of crackers when I make meat loaf. I crush and baggie (and mark the baggie as to it's contents) graham crackers, potatoe chips, cereals, cookies, crackers...all those crumbs, even though stale are still usable for other things. Graham cracker crumbs and cookies crumbs are , obviously, good for pie crusts. Crackers, cereal, potato chips, corn chips, etc., make great crunchy toppings for casseroles or fillers in meat loaf or stuffing. Very little goes to waste in our house. We compost anything vegetable and recycle glass, plastic, cardboard, etc. Our "trash" only goes out once a month, if we are lucky, since there is very little waste to help clog the landfills. Reduce, Reuse, Recycle...we are doing our part and every little part helps....
