Am I going to be alone forever?

I spent 12 years in an abusive relationship. The last 12 years of my life were spent with a manipulative JERK! We have a child together, that means I have to deal with his bullsh*t, from a distance, for 16 more years! If I can find someone that is interested in me, I won't have anything to talk about, the last 12 years of my life is VOID!!. Talking about my Ex is not a good way to start a relationship. I feel like I can't get enough distance from my EX, to experience life without all the bullsh*t.!! Serious answers only. Useful answers if possible!!

You've been in a bad relationship for the past twelve years. Not only do you consider it valuable time wasted, it's also a lot of effort down the drain as well. You're understandably bitter, and I for one don't blame you for feeling that way.

Knowing this, do you really think this is the best time to start seeing someone? You're so angry at this point, do you feel you can keep your end of a conversation and NOT mention how angry you are?

I truly do not know how long you'll stay so angry...in many ways, he stays in your life through that anger. Until you get rid of it, you won't know peace, and any relationship you start is sure to fail. I think I would find a way to channel that anger into something constructive, instead of worrying about being alone.

No one stays alone forever...I think you need to find some time for YOU.
