So why do Christians refer to the scripture sent to Moses as the Bible?

I thought the Bible was sent to Jesus?

I don't know how to begin answering this one. Moses did not write the Bible, nor did Jesus. Moses lived many, many years before Jesus. The scriptures were revealed to numerous people who contributed to the Bible. The Old Testament is made up mostly of law and prophecy, while the New Testament is made up mostly of the Gospels, letters from Paul and others, and the Revelation.

Moses was born 1593 Before our Common Era
Jesus was born 2 Before our Common Era

There are 66 books of the bible and Moses only wrote the first 5. Jesus wrote none. But the bible was written about Jesus. In Genesis it even mentions his prehuman existence with God in heaven. Gen. 1:26. And Genesis tells about the prophecy of Jesus dying for mankind and Jesus ending satan's influence on the inhabitants of the earth. Gen 3:15

Moses receieved the Ten Commandments, as far as I'm aware. I don't recall anything about Moses receiving the Bible. The Bible wasn't sent to Jesus either. It was written by disciples and a variety of others who believed the words to be divinely inspired.

Christianity accepts the Jewish Bible (or a version of it, not including any texts developed or accepted by Jews after the birth of Christ) as the Old Testament. They see the New Testament as the continuing revelation after the Jewish Prophets.
In other words: the Old Testament is the word God sent his people (the Jews) before the coming of Christ. The New Testament is the word of God for all people, written after the coming of Christ - as a report on His actions.
In order to be able to unite the two, Christian theology has had to reinterpret the Old Testament as containing numerous prophesies of His (Jesus') coming. Since Jews (by definition) don't accept Jesus as the Messiah (or saviour), they obviously don't agree with this interpretation of their Torah (their word for the Old Testament - roughly that is).

A short historical aside: early Christians were often Jews. Slowly the two groups drifted apart - partly because Christians, under Paul, decided they need not adhere to the numerous practical restraints Jews were under, like the food laws.

The bible is an anthology of 66 books with over 40 authors. You're talking about the Old and New Testament, which are both part of the bible.

Moses' scriptures is the old testament... this is both the scripture of the Jews and Christians.

Jesus' gospels are written in the new testament... this is where Jews and Christians differ.

The old testament is the old covenant of God... when the prophets prophecied the coming of the Messiah.

The new testament is the new covenant of God. When the prophesies of the old testament come to pass and the Messiah is born, who is Jesus Christ.

Boy are you lost. The Bible is God's word to his people. Tradition has it that Moses wrote the first five books of the Bible. Modern scholars tell us that there are several sources. God sent the ten commandments to Moses.

Jesus is God's son that God sent to save us. He came to fulfill the law and added the eleventh commandment to love our neighbors as ourselves.

There are two Bibles, one to Moses and one to Jesus.

The one to Moses was rude, the one to Jesus was sweet. It's a typical case of good-god/bad-god, and it works. Look at the church people today, they are totally wowed by the whole thing.

The Bible was sent TO all the people of the world.
It was sent THROUGH the various authors and prophets who wrote it down.
Jesus did not write any part of the Bible. His actions and words were recorded by others.
