I hear people say things like " The Truth of Jesus Christ " and stuff like that all the time. But is it the Truth? Do they know it because they feel it? Do they feel it because they know it?

I tend to use the word Truth differently.

I can have Faith that my car will get me to work today.
I can Believe that my car will get me to work today.
I will not KNOW that my car will get me to work today until it actually gets me to work.

And thats the Truth.

I know I have asked this quit a few times , but I keep getting different answers.

They don't know the difference between "belief" and "truth". Truth has evidence to back it up. Truth is provable. No matter how eloquently they try to explain what their "truth" is regarding God or Jesus, it still amounts to nothing more than belief.

iGreat question!

Faith concerning Jesus is not only a feeling of what is true but it is based upon a revelation by His Spirit and it requires action. You will find real truth when you find Him (Jesus) and He is found only through the scriptures.

Example of what's true about real faith:

You can be standing of the rooftop of a burning building with firemen below yelling up to you sayng jump into the net and you will be saved. You can believe and feel that it is the right thing to do and that if you jump you would be saved, but you never do, and you burn up in the fire. Faith is when you jump. Faith is the substance of things hoped for the evidence of things not yet seen. Faith is not seeing something, or doing something before you believe it -it is taking action before you receive it or it is just belief. As Christians we follow the teachings of Christ. When talking about truth Jesus said, " My word is truth". And so as Christians when we talk about truth what we mean is what the Bible says. What you describe as faith is exactly opposite to what a Christian believes faith is. When you say that you have faith that your car will get you to work that is really what we would call sight. You can see your car, you can see people driving their cars to work every day, you have driven your car to work for many days, you are trusting what you have seen happen throughout your life time. That is not faith you are trusting in what you perceive things to be. Faith in the Bible in Hebrews 11 is believing what you cannot see and what does not seem to be rational. To believe in Jesus is not rational because Jesus did not teach rational things. Jesus taught to to get life you need to give up your life. To have things you need to give away things. This sort of teaching can only be believed by true faith.

~~~derbonic,,,, When a Believer (in anything) uses the word 'truth' in this context, it is merely An Affirmation of Their Faith. YES,,, It is Very Subjective and belies their inherent prejudice,,, which should be taken into account.
theist's have a right to their own answers to things, no matter how wrong they are. So much is subjective about truth vs. faith.
They refer to it as Truth because they believe sincerely that it is. That's what Faith is about.
Well said. Believing something, even if you believe it with absolute certainty, still doesn't make it the truth.
Having absolute faith in something doesn't make it any more real
If you jump off of a thirty story building, you will hurt yourself. Is that the truth?
Or do you have to jump off the building in order to KNOW that you will hurt yourself?
I wonder how fussy we can be about words when we don't know the difference between "there" and "their."
