Your fine amount will depend on if this is your first, second, third, or more conviction. The more convictions you have in a five year time frame, the higher your fine amount will be. Each county and city department vary in their price range as well. Prior to switching to a new department, the last one I worked for was $725 1st, $1330 2nd, and $2995 for 3rd or more. There is also a new time period added to your suspension time. That time frame must pass before you can get your license reinstated. NOTE: Even if you have paid your fine and the time period has passed, your license is not automatically reinstated. You must go back to DMV and pay the reinstatement fee to get your license back in order.
If you can get your license reinstated prior to court, get it done now. It will look favorable for you with the judge. Most judges do not want to suspend a valid license. You may still have to pay the same amount of fine, but the judge can change the charge on the citation to reflect a charge that does not suspend your license.
Also, if you cannot pay the full amount at court, they will place you on probation until your fine is paid. It's normally 12 months, but may be released from probation after 3 months if all fines are paid in full.

A fine, more punishment, no license for long, long time and pay on it for what seems like forever to get it back. And if no insurance - even more problems for you.
I'd suggest using the bus or helping pay for someones gas to drive you around who has a valid and legal license.

i'm an insurance agent in Ct... i'm undecided concerning the registration piece, yet you are able to not insure a motor vehicle whilst your license is at the instant suspended while you are the only motive force on the coverage. the two checklist a motive force with an lively license on your coverage or wait till you're reinstated. wish this helps!

Its not worth driving while suspended. I got busted for it a few years back in Pennsylvania, heres what i got.
$1500.00 lawyer bill
$789.50 fine
1 additional year suspension
90 days in jail, which doesnt count towards your suspension time
my car confiscated
my insurance dropped
and a probation violation to boot
BELEIVE ME WHEN I SAY ITS NOT WORTH IT!!!!

You will probably get your license revoked and/or spend a few weeks in jail.
