Sometimes I eat less than 1000 calories a day.It really not my fault.I am on a diet but after eating Im not hungry any more so I stop eating and it ends up totaling to less than 1000 calories sometimes.Someone told me that if your not hungry dont eat so I dont because I used to just eat if I was bored.

Be very careful dieting! Don't make a habit of eating less than 1000 calories a day. Also make sure you eat a balanced diet, getting all the vitamins and minerals your body needs. If you can't eat what you need consult your doctor about taking a vitamin supplement. Exercise is good to lose weight to. Talk to your doctor about what is a good diet plan for you. Take care of yourself and if you think you have an eating disorder get help immediately!!!

where do you get 1,000 calories a day from?

with that little of a caloric intake you are definetly not getting sufficient nutrients in your diet. a life time of eating like that will make for some very miserable years in your golden years when your health fails.

the caloric intake should be based on the amount of lean body mass that a person has and the daily level of activity, you just can't use some arbitrary number of calories and expect that to be sufficient for optimum health. 1,000 calories is barely sufficient nutrients for a 4 year old. severely restricted the caloric intake during puberty is a sure fire way to disrupt the endocrine system for life.

It is normally not a good thing. Most people's basal metabolism (how many calories you need just to stay alive) is between 1200 and 1400. You could be different but I'd say it'd be a safe call to have at least 500 more calories a day, if not more. Those will not effect your diet.

Occasionally it is not bad for you, but don't make a habit out of it. Your body usually needs 1200 calories just to keep your temperature up.

Less than 12,000 calories and your body thinks you are starving. It will then save every single gram of food you take in and store it, in case you "starve" again. Can you please email me and tell me what diet you're on? This is really not good for you babe, if I know what you're eating (or not eating) then I can see what essential nutrients you're missing out on and hopefully help you continue a diet that lets you lose weight without starving yourself.
