I used bleach on my dyed red hair a few weeks ago, and it has that ugly orange tinge to it. It's actually kind of cute, but not what I was going for, haha. When I went with my mom to get her hair cut, the lady at the salon suggested using tide or some other laundry-related product to get some of the orange undertone out. Does this sound right? I think I might just to back to the salon to get it bleached correctly this week.

I can't believe a stylist told you to do that! The orange undertones will not come out. You need to put something over it to counteract it. You should go to a beauty supply and buy a toner. Is it Orange? Than you need a blue base toner. Is it Yellow Orange? Then you need a blue violet base toner.
I would probably get blue violet to be safe. Make sure and read the manufacturers instructions! Of course it would be best to see a professional, but by the advice of the last one, I am leery of advising that!

Go To The Salon, Laundry Detergent Will Only Dry And Damage Your Hair And Probably Won't Remove Enough Color To Be Effective.

Honey I believe that woman was joking with you. I think you should stop putting too many chemicals in your hair it not good for your hair. It could lead to damage and maybe even having your hair fall out. I think the best thing to do is just let you hair grow out, your shocking your hair. If you don't stop with the damage then you may not have the hair to complain about. Seriously I'm not trying to be mean, but it will happen, doing something wrong or continuously dying your hair will have it's problems later on, best of luck.

Try the tide. The red will fade out in a few days anyway, so don't panic. If the tide doesn't work, then go spend the extra money. There's no point in spending it if you don't have to.

That stylist is full of it! Tide will not take out the orange undertones.
