I got this tattoo below my ear, and its mostly dark greens and blues. I don't like at all how it turned out and I am really regretting it. I would love to get something else. I would actually love to get a tattoo with lighter color but I know that isn't possible. the problem is, I dont want this big bulky black thing on my neck like that, I want it to stay small and be somewhat feminine. How can I do this? Please no lectures, I know I need to work on my impulsiveness :)

Also:
I don't have the kind of money to laser it
and I can't go back to where I got it done (its all the way across the country from me)
thanks!

I too have a tattoo that I regret. There is hope though. I will list a link below where you can look for a decent tattoo artist. Once you find the one that is nearest to you, you can contact him and you and the artist can discuss a cover-up. It is just amazing what can be done to a "bad" tattoo.

Some tatt artists charge twice as much to do cover-ups, but if you get satisfaction, it is well worth the money. I hope you find someone to fix your tatt, and I hope you get a tatt you love and are proud of.

You can locate tattoo artists below by location , by name, by type of tattoo you want, etc . You can also see samples of their work to make sure you get someone good. Good luck.

yeah i hear ya i was 16 when i got my first tat... I'm also a very impulsive person. I went one place they had a great pic of what i wanted but no openings so i decided to go somewhere else where they could fit me in and i just described what i wanted...and well my nan tells me that my "blue sun" looks like a beer bottle cap. Hhhmmm

Mines on my shoulder blade so it's not so bad but where yours is so close to your face u ever thought about a flower of some sort?? That would be pretty. Honestly u need to find a good tattoo artist that is creative and maybe will have some ideas. If only i could get to MIAMI to be on "Miami Ink" they're amazing at what they do. :)
good luck and i feel for ya.

I also have a tattoo I am not happy with and thought I would be stuck covering it with some dark color and that's not true at all you need to do some research and find an artist that specializes in doing coverups there is still hope without having to do laser removal. I will be getting my coverup done this summer.....Good luck!!!

Check out some of the shops where you are now, talk to the artists and tell them what you have in mind and see what they come up with. Not seeing the tatt, it's kind of hard to have an opinion. A cover up doesnt have to be huge. Good Luck

you can't get something lighter but you don't have to get something black. you should go to someone who is good at doing coverup tattoos and have them take a look at it and make some suggestions. it may be something that can't be fixed the way you want it. in that case you may need to just save up your money and have it removed.

If I were you I would NOT go back for a corrective tattoo of any sort...see a reputable Dr. instead and find out what would be involved in removing it altogether. It wouldn't be cheap (or pain-free) but they can do amazing things now. If you have a teaching hospital anywhere in your locale I'd run, not walk there. They are generally very good and the rates are a bit lower. At the very least, you would know what is possible.

You are a good case to remember for anyone who is thinking of permanently altering their skin.

the only way to remove it permanently is to laser it.. otherwise, invest in a good concealer. MAC studio finish pot concealer is good to conceal tattooes (friends use it too)

Get it removed, if you want to put something else, you wouldn't even have to get it completely removed, just enough for you to put something else over it.

The DR'S can remove it with lasers.
