High School: there is this freshman girl that likes me(she has been dropping obvious hints) and she sits next to me. I am a sophmore. When ever i talk to her i try to hold the eye contact after i am done talking but she always looks away and she can never let the feeling sink in. Why do you think she does this?

It's actually a feminine trait, according to my psychology professor. He says that it is a male trait to keep eye contact for more then a few seconds. Some women do keep contact, but they have stronger masculine sides. These tend to be stronger women and usually grew up with brothers or no mother. It could also be shyness.

Because some parents demand eye contact. It tends to make a person not like it. I recon it takes a while for kids to get used to the fact that its an important thing in the opposite sex world to.

I have no idea. I've noticed that I don't meet anyone's eyes. Ever. I hate it, and I've been trying to meet people's eyes when I'm talking to them, but it's really really hard for me. I feel like I'm giving them too much attention.

umm she is shy! most girls are not that shy but I know a few that are just like her. if that happens again take her chin in your and then make her look you in the eyes and give her a nice smile. she will always remember that and so will you. tell her you like to see her eyes. then she will look at you more

It probably creeps her out, why do young boys always do that? I hated when they did that to me in High School, do you think it's sexy or cute? It always made me want to go take a shower.

She likes you, it's obvious. Just ask her out if you like her and if you don't just try being nice.

it could be that she's shy......or she likes you and doesn't know what to do. alot of people have trouble making eye contact..it makes them feel vulnerable
